As usual, Filters-NOW is is the only place to order my filters. Filters-NOW actually builds/assembles filters. Their selection through Amazon is actually better than what they offer on their own website.

The filter material is excellent and filters out everything from hair to drywall dust. These are good for about 350 hours of operation in a normal household. If you have a dusty house, or are doing remodeling, then your duration is much shorter. If you exceed the useful life of a filter, it will greatly decrease the efficiency (ie, increase your cost).

The best way to do this is to check your filter every month. If you see grey discoloration larger than a few inches in the center, then it's time to replace the filter.

Filters-Now replacement filters are delivered promptly, and are packed individually in sealable plastic bags. The bags are left unsealed so you can put your old filter in it and not track dust through the house.

We've used these filters for 2 years and have been very pleased. The cost of the MERV13 filters are less than the cost of locally obtainable MERV11 filters, so I highly recommend this manufacturer's products, no matter which filtration level you need (MERV8, 11 or 13).
