Customer Review: OK, but a couple things I didn't expect
Summary: 5 Stars
First things first- it is exactly what it is described as, and any of the comments below are more the result of my not reading carefully than any defects in the product. Thus the 5 star rating, even though I had some problems with it.
I am not a fan of the top. It is a flap over a large slot. My concern is that if tipped over at just the right angle, used sharps can spill out of the container. As such, it should probably be used only where it can be secured. I much prefer the other type of top, where there is a rotating drum which does not allow sharps to spill from a tipped container. Again, this is my fault for not understanding exactly what I was buying.
Second, the container is bigger than I expected, and does not easily fit into the cabinet where I usually keep it. Again, my fault.
Other than that, it works great...although it is a sharps container-you'd have to work hard to find one that didn't work. At two syringes per day, I expect to get about 6-9 months out of this, which makes for less trips to the disposal facility. On the other hand, I don't know if the size of this container will cause any issues when I take it to the disposal center...time will tell. You might want to check on this before you purchase one this big.
Update: At 2 syringes per day, it took about 6 months to fill up. No issues with disposal at local pharmacy.
