I purchased this pendant magnifier for my mother for Christmas. She has Macular Degeneration and has to use very strong (5x) magnifying glasses to read labels in stores or menus in restaurants. Having to fish around in her purse for her magnifying glass and pull it out of its case, and juggle everything, has been such a hardship for her. This pendant is such a beautiful solution to her problem. We were amazed at the quality of the necklace itself, as a piece of jewelry, but the quality of the lens is excellent as well. She has also received many compliments on it. I highly recommend this pendant as a gift (for yourself! or another) - for any woman who is eyesight impaired. Just so you know, the lens is not very large, but it is very effective.
