I bought this for my mother who has macular degeneration and needs something more powerful than the 2-3 power drug store items. It is a convenient size, will fit in her purse but for her primary use... reading menus etc, it just isn't that handy. She has a very hard time getting things into focus and the lens is so small she can only see a letter or two at a time which makes using it rather tedious. Its not terrible....she just doesn't find it very useful.
