I am a nurse who bought this for my husband when he started paramedic school. I had a different stethoscope from ADC that I loved, but thought this one would be great for use in the field as the diaphragm and bell do not have to be switched back and forth for use in different situations. It is solidly built and has lived up to the abuse of being stuffed in the bottom of his backpack often. My husband says the acoustics are clear, even in the field, which can be quite noisy. Don't waste your money on a Littman.
