These earplugs can be used for many things, but we use them for protection while skeet shooting and they are the best we have had. I used to use a lot of rollable earplugs when living with the noisy roommate in college. I found myself rolling earplugs so many times a day that eventually I experienced finger pain because the earplugs needed to be rolled into an extremely tight wad before they could be placed in the ear.
These earplugs solve this problem. They are simple, push-in earplugs and their noise reduction is comparable to the rollable earplugs (maybe just slightly worse). If you want to sleep with them you will most likely have to cut them a little shorter if you sleep with the side of your head on a pillow.

I ordered a pair of these ear plugs before but found them too stiff and they hurt the inside of my ear. When they they advertised that they had changed them and made them softer, I thought I could not go wrong for the price. The picture looked like the ones I wear and constantly lose. But they are still too narrow and stiff for my ears. I can't wear them. I do not think that they changed these ear plugs at all. I do have sensitive ears so they might work for most others. But the ones I buy at CVS are blue, wider and softer and they block out most noise without bruising the inside of my ears. I do wear them for long periods, but ten minutes was too long for these.Customer Review: not for sleeping

Had I needed these for something other than sleeping, they may have worked. For the most part, it is impossible to keep them in, plus they are rather uncomfortable, go for the standard soft squishy kind.Customer Review: Earmuffs are infinitely better

These particular ear plugs don't block much sound, so I bought some earmuffs that block sound instead. They are infinitely better, though also more expensive.
Additionally, I don't like how you have to twist the ear plugs around when you remove them. The text on the packaging about damaging your ear drums kind of freaks me out.
