After searching for alcohol-free aftershaves I settled on this product. I'm not disappointed. This stuff is very moisturizing to soothe razor burn. It can be a little greasy so you have to use a tiny dab at a time. That will end up being a positive because it will last quite some time.
If you do happen to cut yourself you will probably want to have some kind of astringent handy, such as witch hazel, to slap on your face before you put this stuff on. It's fine for tiny cuts, but it doesn't seem to have much in the way of astringent qualities; it is more of a moisturizer. You decide if that's positive or negative. For me it's more positive. I don't need my skin squeezing itself shut unless I cut myself. Otherwise I like my skin relaxed and moisturized.
As for the smell, if you're looking for another canned deodorant smell this is certainly not for you. I think if you open up a container of lemonade mix you might get an idea for what it smells like. It's lemony, but it doesn't bite your nose as if you were actually smelling a lemon. It's a very unique smell that I wasn't sure I liked at first, but it did kind of grow on me.
Overall I enjoy this product. I was looking for a cream as opposed to a liquid that would end up mostly dripping down the drain or evaporating on my hands, so this fits well. It can still get a little greasy even if you're being careful but if you wash and dry your hands and massage your face enough you can take care of that. If that and smelling a little lemony doesn't put you off and you're looking for a more natural aftershave then give this stuff a try.
