What can cure or knock down the common cold? I was so skeptical about Airborne working as advertised, but when my husband and I tried it, we got results. Routinely one of us would catch something if we traveled on an airplane. Now, if we have to travel by airplane, we just use it, no matter what, and we aren't sick any more. Surprising to me was that if you take it at the first sign of congestion and continue to take it as directed, it will significantly reduce symptoms quickly, and at times I have had all symptoms disappear within a day. For me it really depends upon how quickly I start taking it after developing congestion. It is a particularly good buy when Amazon runs this three packet at $9.99 or $10.99.Customer Review: Zicam may possibly destroy your sense of smell

Seeing other people mention Zicam I feel compelled to mention there are many lawsuits now alleging it can destroy your sense of smell. In particular, the Zicam gel. Maybe you want to read up on this yourself before deciding whether to use it.
And now for my review of Airborne. I'm giving it 5 stars because it does seem to do something. But it could just be my imagination? Before I heard of Airborne last week I would take an antihistamine at the first sign of getting a cold and that seemed to have the same effect (actually I did that this time as well, oops).
It would be nice to see a few double-blind studies done. It's so popular it's a little surprising there are none already.

My twins have been very sick this past week 10/10/04
I knew I was going to get their bad cold. but I remembered I had heard about Airborne. SO I bought some and tried it!
It worked! I didn't get sick! I started to get sick.. but them I started to take this and I got all better!
The taste was not bad. I was going to drink fast and just deal with the taste but didn't have to. I really liked it! It worked for my husband as well! It is a bit of $$ but worth it! I have bought more and will keep buying it!

Customer Review: Kept me from getting the yuck going around at work

I was introduced to this by one our library pages. I work at a public library and the staff was getting severe colds that were putting them out of work for a week or more. As it made it's progression through the department, I took the generic form of this which is just as good and less then half the cost. So far I'm one of three people (the other two being the cataloger in the basement and the library page) on staff who hasn't come down with any sort of sickness. Now I don't think this is going to help you at all if you have the beginning symptoms. I think it's optimal when everyone else has the yucks and you don't. I've seen a few posts that wonder about the true medical powers of Airborne. All I can say, it works for me. There have been several times when I've felt run down, or that wierd, I can feel a cold coming on in the back of my throat feeling. I've taken a few Airborne over the day, though, and I don't get sick.
A few people have mentioned the taste, I think it tastes fine, kind of like Tang mixed with alka Seltzer maybe?
Bottom line, what have you got to lose? Compared to a lot of other things out there, all of the ingredients seem relatively safe for the small doses you're taken here, so why not try it?
