Customer Review: Superior combination-product and customer service!

I had to share what an excellent air purification system and customer service I've found with the Alen Corp.
I have a daughter with Autism and extreme allergies to everything-especially environmental allergens like dust, mildew, chemicals, pollution, pollen, etc. and have spent thousands of dollars trying to reduce the levels in our home.
I've tried Electrocorp, Aller Air, Holmes, Panasonic, and have been dissatisfied by performance, ease & thoroughness of cleaning, and customer service in getting replacement filters.
I've had my Alen 350 running over a year, and can tell how effective it is when I change the filter and clean the housing,(which is really easy by the way) & how much we suffered when we were without it 3 wks at the beginning of Spring. When I experienced a minor problem with it after our one year anniversary, I was helped immediately and graciously by customer service-they even followed up to make sure the solution was satisfactory! I've just decided to replace my downstairs unit (another brand) with another Alen unit based upon all the above........
they believe so heartily in their products they offer LIFETIME WARRANTY-unheard of in these days and times.

After spending some time researching the large number of air purifiers on the market, I decided this would be the best option in regard to price, efficiency and quality. The A350 had good reviews for the most part, so I went ahead and ordered it. The anticipation was high waiting for it to arrive and, since its arrival, it has not let us down. This seems like a well-built product and I anticipate many years of service out of it (it comes with a lifetime warantee). It's got four fan speeds, and we seem to use 2 the most, particularly when sleeping. Three and four are a bit too noisy, four being fairly aggressive. We like this though, particularly if we've been away from the house for a while and we want some quick air cleaning. The controls on the machine are simple yet very functional, and it seems to me that my sinuses are not as clogged since having this purifier. This review is fairly long, but the reviews were very helpful to me in choosing a product. This is the only air purifier I have ever owned, but am very happy with it this far. I hope this review has been helpful. I'd say get one if you're reading this and considering it. You've got nothing to lose but some air pollution.Customer Review: Nice design and QUIET

There is no magic to carbon and hepa filtration- carbon picks up the VOCs and hepa traps the particles... pretty simple. The magic for an air purifier is in the blower and the ease with which filters can be accessed and changed. Alen got the magic in this unit. The low fan setting is virtually (and amazingly) silent. On high, this unit can really moves some air. I'm unconvinced negative ions do anything at all, but this unit also has an ionizer. The front cover comes off easily and filter changes are a breeze. The lifetime warranty is impressive and reassuring. One slight problem that others have experienced... if the fan retainer nut is the least bit loose, you may hear a clicking (or ticking) sound. Alen responded quickly to my inquiry about the problem and recommended I remove the back panel (phillips screws) and tighten the fan retaining nut. The nut was already tight, so I just removed the nut and the fan and then reassembled and re-tightened. Problem cured. It was clear Alen would have gladly exchanged the unit if my tinkering didn't work. And oh yes, my winter allergies are history and no more musty smelling VOCs in the air.Customer Review: Breathing easier

The doctor told me last year that I have an allergy of some sort... but after doing several tests, they were unable to identify what. I went for several weeks with a "winter allergy".
After running this unit over Thanksgiving and running it non-stop for the last few weeks I can say, I am breathing much easier. Even a few weeks ago I thought I was on my way to getting a cold as I was getting the familiar mucus in my throat... all that is gone after running this for a week in my home.
It should be noted that we have 2 cats (although the tests showed I wasn't allergic to them), and I have always noticed we seem to have quite a bit of dust at the end of the week after dusting just the week before. After running this for a week, I already noticed a dramatic reduction in dust.
I would highly recommend this unit for folks who have experience "winter allergy's". As you close up your house to keep the warm air in, the dust and whatever else cannot escape and just gets recirculated with the heater.

I received this unit as a Christmas gift (I've been suffering from some pretty nasty allergies), and I love it! It's fairly loud and high-throughput at the two higher speed settings, but it's whisper-quiet at the lowest setting and creates a pleasant gentle breeze. I've got it positioned under my (quite large) desk, so I usually run it at the lowest speed when I'm working at my desk and at the second-highest speed the rest of the time. It's a great white noise machine at the higher setting (we've got several neighbors with dogs), and it really has improved my allergies.
If I leave it off for a day or two, I start to feel the difference in the morning with stuffy nose and scratchy throat. It's been incredibly helpful. Also, the fact that it has a little series of lights to remind you when to change the filters is great. I haven't had to replace them yet (yay!), though it looks like I'll have to put in a new filter in 2-3 months. This is probably one of the best gifts I've received.
