There's a couple different routes a person could travel when deciding on a beard care system, and I've tried two. Professor Edward J. Fuzzyworth's Gentleman's Beard Care Gloss is by far the better (I've also tried Bluebeard's Original Beard Saver, which I found to smell obnoxious and do nothing in particular for the beard).
The smell of Fuzzyworth's is herbal and wonderful. It takes a very small amount (which grows along with the beard, naturally) to work it fully in. In fact, I advise to go with what seems to be a tad too little, as getting a tad too much creates a greasy mess. But with just a tiny amount worked into the beard on a daily basis, I've begun to notice a softening, and stiffening. It's more pleasant to touch (and smell), but avoids the tendency to frizz out into the nether on windy or humid days.
Simple fact is, there's never going to be One right recommendation. All beards are different, and require a tailored care program. However, I think anyone who give's Fuzzyworth's a try will leave the experience well satisfied, and willing to admit its superiority to other beard care systems.

Contains beeswax, to protect and condition; certified (BFA) organic Australian olive and jojoba oils; castor oil, which penetrates deeply, used for centuries to condition hair, and essential oils - bay, rosemary, cedarwood and lime. For best results, use very little! Application: work a small amount between the fingers or hands until warm. Work through beard or moustache spreading towards the ends. Keep in cool place.
