This is a product that requires some planning, and make sure you are prepared to begin. It isn't a fad diet item, this is the real deal. It also has some real side effects that you need to be aware of, and prepared to endure. By itself, this product probably won't do much. Combined with a change of diet, and adding in a decent exercise regime, it does work.
I had become a 244 pound fat boy, and decided to do something about it.
I began working out 35-60 minutes 3 - 4 times a week, changed my eating, snacking, and beer drinking habits. Now, 4 months later, I am at 214 pounds. For the first time ever, my cholesterol level was at normal levels. My Doctor said that the Alli (Orlistat) likely contributed to the drop in my Cholesterol due to its serious fat blocking.
If your truly serious about losing weight, and will change your diet and exercise habits, I recommend Alli 100%. It will work. Though it requires a commitment.

A few years ago, I used another type of fat-blocker (a prescription medicine) which worked fine but made you have to go to the bathroom RIGHT AWAY! There wasn't much time to look for a bathroom if you were out shopping. Alli blocks the fat but doesn't make you have to go to the bathroom immediately, or if it does, it's not "unbearable."
I find that it blocks the fat for me, plus it helps with bowel movements. I know this sounds kind of gross, but it does work! I feel much better when I use Alli after eating a high-fat meal. You can't use it if you're eating raw vegetables (with no dip, etc.) or any non-fat meal. It's not intended for that. Since I don't eat 3 meals a day, the 120-count size bottle lasts longer. You must remember to take it when you begin eating the high-fat meal, or it may not work or it may take much longer for it to work.
I recommend it very much. When I get low on the 120-count size, I'm ordering another.

I've been using Alli now since the middle of November, and I've lost 12 pounds, on schedule with the promised 1-2 pounds of safe weight loss per week. They have a very robust online support site for people who purchase the pills and it provides useful tracking of weight loss and encouragement in more ways than I can use. The treatment effects that you read about are what keeps people honest with Alli and essentially make it work -- if you eat too much fat at one sitting, you'll be visiting the bathroom quite frequently. You learn quick. I made it through the holidays with continued weight loss, which I view as an amazing feat. I have 13 more pounds to lose on my plan and I'll weigh what I did before I had my two kids. Easy to use, promotes healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes, and self-critiquing when you stray from the plan. I am over weight and I decided to make a complete life change. I enrolled in the gym and I started to see a dietitian. The weight began to come off, but I felt like I needed an extra boost. I did my research online and I spoke to my doctor about Alli, I was nervous because of one of the possible side effects is diarrhea, but that only happens when you eat food loaded with fat! I decided to give it a shot before Alli I was losing about 2-3lbs a week, but with Alli I am losing between 5-7lbs a week! I know it might not sound like alot, but the difference is really amazing for me! But people have to realize you have to take control dont expect to eat whatever you want and lose more weight just because you take Alli before your meal, its not like that the better you eat and the more you exercise the more Alli will help you! I'm not overweight by Alli standards, but I'm chubby. I've been struggling to lose 7 pounds for the past two years. I talked to my doctor and he recommended trying Alli to help me lose the weight.
Unless I eat a high fat meal, I do not get any of the side effects. When I do eat a high fat meal, I do get all of the side effects. The oily spots in the bowel movement are orange or brown and they smell terrible...like nothing I have ever smelled before and the smell lingers in the bathroom for hours! My sister started using this product as well and she said the same thing.
Becareful about farting when using this product because "terrible" things can happen. The stains left on your underwear are extremely difficult to get out.
Don't rely JUST on this product to lose weight. You still have to exercise and diet! I've lost 2 of my 7 pounds in the past month...so I'm happy with the results.
