Customer Reviews of Alli Weight-Loss Aid, Orlistat 60mg Capsules, 60-Count Starter PackCustomer Review: My Two Cents Summary: 5 Stars
I've been on alli for six days now. I've definitely lost weight without changing one iota of my normal lifestyle. I eat "real" food. I will never eat reduced fat margarine or skim milk. I don't eat a lot, but when I do it's meat, fish, pasta, and the like, and I'm a huge cheese/olive oil/cream-based sauce fan.
I honestly think alli was made for somebody like me. No offense, but really what's the point of taking a fat-blocker if you're consuming only 45 grams of fat per day anyway? Good for you if you're one of those people who are happy with the cardboard-like fat-free cheese and fat-free cooking spray, but that's not me.
As someone who does consume fat, I should tell you about the "treatment effects." The only difference I've noticed is that I do need to go to the bathroom now when I first wake up in the morning (it used to be after coffee), and there is visible oil. The oil looks like the droplets you see when you open up a can of chicken stock. I totally feel fine though, and I have had no issues with leakage, "not being about to make it," or gas.
I haven't been on a scale, but I am definitely thinner. I will keep you posted with weight loss results. By the way, I'm a 5'7", 150-pound, size 6 female.

I bought my 90 capsules on Monday. I am now on day three. So far, I am happy.
I know that if I eat anything FATTY that I will experience the side effects! It doesn't curb your appetite, race your heart-none of the things you expect from a diet pill.
Once you eat something fatty-expect to go to the bathroom. You don't want to soil yourself-THEN EAT RIGHT!
I am using this as a jumpstart, not a CURE. Monday I ate what I wanted. Yesterday I felt bloated. I ran back and forth all early morning today to the toilet.(3am est) Stomache is still bubbling, but I have a handle on it.
It's pretty simple: Eat fat foods-BAM, eat right less bam.
I am intelligent enough to know as a person who didnt' go to the bathroom everyday-that there was stuff that NEEDED to come out.
I am walking everyday to help accelerate my weight loss, but I am also realistic. I didn't put the weight on overnight and it won't come off overnight.
I will just reserve my "fat day" for the weekends when I am near a toilet, or maybe will be inspired to CONTINUE to eat better because of the results. Either way, I am willing to give it a try.
Customer Review: Seems To Be Working For Me Summary: 5 Stars
After reading all these negative reviews I want to know what their stats and situatons are; without that information, their comments are useless to me. I am a male, 45, 5 10, and was at 280 lbs a few months back. Despite what people will say everyone is different and I challenge anyone with similar stats to exactly follow what I ate & exercised over the last few years and gain the 100lbs I did in two years. I have been checked and rechecked and so far no 'medical' reason has surfaced for my weight gain.
So back in April I decided to try a number of diets. I was able to drop to drop 17 lbs but then I hit a wall and stayed at 263. I started Alli a week ago and I am happy to report that I am at 258. For me, its working for two reasons. The first is if you eat too much fat you will experience what others have described here. That alone makes me think twice before I eat anything. The other may be psychological but for the first time in a very long time I am feeling satisfied (not exactly full but not interested in eating more) when I eat.
So right now it seems like it is working for me. I will update my progress in a few weeks - I think that will be more helpful than one week.
Customer Review: It really works!! Summary: 5 Stars
Okay i read all the reviews, and agree with some that the "treatment effects" are disgusting. But hey as a woman who desperately needed to shed 20 pounds they didnt bother me. I was alli since the first day it came out back in June 2007 and I didnt notice any changes for the first couple weeks. Well about 2 months later people started saying i looked slimmer so i got on the scale, I LOST 11 POUNDS...i was so excited. I started at 165 and was 155. I am a nurse so i started doing research about orilast which is the active ingredient in alli and realized that the prescription strength was double of what the over the counter strength was so i started to take 2 pills with every meal. (more expensive) but OH MY how it made wonders. I lost 9 more pounds in a month. I got down to 146 which for me and my frame was satisfying. I currently am on my last bottle now since i have lost a total of 23 pounds and realize that i will not need them anymore because i know how to maintain weight i just had problems losing it. I hope this helps all the people who want to start it. If you really need to lose weight it works GREAT. it has changed my life and made a happier thinner person.
Customer Review: Plain & simple - it works Summary: 5 Stars
I love it. I am about 25 lbs over MY ideal weight and a couch potato ;o) ... I'm gonna keep it real -- it is as simple as taking it with every meal. Forget the review that's talking about " do the math " ... it's not complicated .. everyone hates a critic ;) ... I am not changing a whole lot in my diet, I don't eat a lot but what I do eat is GOOD (higher in fat). I have been on Alli for 2 weeks. Have taken the pill religiously with every meal. And I have lost 7 pounds and have not yet implemented exercise so i can only imagine the results when i start the treadmill this week. They may not call it a miracle pill, but I do, and without it I would still be 7 pounds heavier. I have not had any "embarrassing accidents". Gas is a little more stinky, but i can still keep it under control. I normally have regular poo but now it's a tad bit more often, and much softer .. but again, i can keep it under control. Also, every now and then I get a little crampy, but big whoop. I have no complaints AT ALL and highly recommend it. 18 more lbs to go and at this rate, i'll hit it in about 4 more weeks. You can't beat that.
