Customer Review: Fine Thermometer, Terrible Packaging

The thermometer appears to work as advertised. Seems to be a decent product.
The packaging, however, is straight from hell. It's one of those hermetically sealed hard plastic death traps that you have to cut through with razor-sharp scissors or a battle axe. In the process of opening the package, I was sliced several times by slivers of rigid plastic, once drawing blood.
All manufacturers, especially manufacturers of medical devices, should examine their packaging to ensure that more good than harm is caused by the opening of their products.
Unless you absolutely need the flexible tip feature of this thermometer (and it is quite flexible), I would look elsewhere.
