Customer Review: Pretty effective, but strong persistent odor.

I purchased this product to get rid of odor from my toddlers vomit on a vinyl high chair and sisal rug. I also used it for food and other stains on my todddler's clothing. My overall experience was mixed. On the up side, the product does a good job of removing the vomit odor and almost fully eliminating stains on clothing, even black stains created by the rubber-baesd ground cover at the neighborhood playground. On the down side, I found the odor to be quite strong and was not pleased that it permeated throughout the laundry batch after the laundry cycle. It also lingered for some days on the vinyl high chair despite a subsequent wiping down with wet cloth (one could refer to it as an odor replacer rather than an odor eliminator), and stained the sisal rug white (although this may have been due to my use of white paper towels to mop up the producte after it was applied). I'm no longer using it for laundry stains until I find a way of eliminating the product's odor from the wash.Customer Review: # of stars depends on your purpose....

I'm of mixed feelings for this product...
As an enzymatic odor remover, this stuff gets 5 stars all the way. My cat has a fondness for peeing on one of my wool rugs, and this product does an amazing job of neutralizing the urine, cleaning the rug, and imparting an AMAZING lime smell into my room. For that purpose, I love this stuff!
However, as a basic laundry stain remover, bac-out gets one star from me. I wanted so badly to like this stuff, I did. For several loads, I tried it as my pre-treat on stains. Every stain was immediately treated, then treated again for good measure 30 minutes before laundering, but it just wasn't effective. When the stains were treated with Spray n Wash or even the Dollar Tree brand LA Awesome stuff, the stains came right out, washed in the same detergent (biokleen detergent with biokleen oxygenated bleach) at the same temperature. Really bummed me out, as I love the product otherwise.

I read the other reviews and was very hopeful but it did not get stains out of my toddlers laundry. It does smell really good though.
