When I removed this hands free magnifier from the manufacturers box, a small piece of clear plastic fell out onto my desk. It was the broken off piece of molded plastic that holds the support cord. Not wanting to return the product, I re-attached the broken off plastic piece with super glue, and that worked fine. After cleaning the viewing lens I noticed that it contained scratch marks in the middle, and that told the story.
This product appears to have been dropped, which not only broke off the piece of plastic, but also scratched the lens, and instead of discarding it, the employee who likely dropped it placed it, and the broken piece of plastic, into the manufacturers box, and it was sold to me.
This problen has nothing to do with Amazon, or the retailer. It is a manufacturing problem. Thinking that this product was likely made in China, much to my dismay I discovered it was made in the USA. We don't need this kind of shoddy quality control on USA manufactured products, and my advice to Baush & Lomb is to get their act together.
The functionability of this product seems to be pretty decent. I'm 70 years old, and my eyesight is not what it once was, so this hands free magnifier does seem like a pretty good idea. However, due to the low 2X magnification, our corrective lenses are a must. Fortunately, they can easily be used with this product. Were it not for the problems stated above, I'd likely have given this product 5 stars.

Being a buxomy woman, the sight saver does not sit well on my chest and slips down, or around causing me to stop my needlework and readjust the magnifier. I continue to use it until I find something else that will work better.Customer Review: B & L Hands Free

Before I buy this, can anyone tell me how heavy it is? My Mom won't like something pulling on her 92 year old neck so it's got to be light for her to tolerate it.
