This commode is very sturdy. It will certainly hold a heavy person, securely. The rubber tipped leg bottoms keeps the steel frame stable, even on a waxed wood floor. No sliding at all. The height of the chair can adjust for someone very short or tall. There is no need to use a "raised seat attachment" It can be adjusted much taller than the standard bathroom toliet. There are 7 height adjustment levels on this chair.
The seat and lid are sturdy and stable. Both lock onto the frame of the chair. The seat opening is 10" in length by 8" in width. It's certainly large enough for "number 1 or number 2". To empty, simply raise the seat and lift the bucket out by it's handle. The handle is attached just like a mop bucket. This unit comes with a transport cover. No worries about the contents sloshing around when emptying.
It was very easy to assemble...took less than 5 minutes. No tools required. Don't be put off by the low price. This commode looks and "feels" like it should cost well over 100. It is very sturdy. Instead of white, the color is dove grey.
This commode will be greatly appreciated by persons with limited mobility who have had "accidents" because they can't reach the bathroom toliet in time. It can help preserve their dignity. Actually, I keep this on our first floor. We have no powder room on that level. My relative can walk steps, but at times, not quickly enough. I really believe a lot of falls that people sustain, are the result of trying to make it to the toliet in time, and trying to get out of the bathtub. This removes the stress of wondering if they can make it to the toliet in time. It was shipped free of delivery charges and I received in two days after placing my order. Thanks Amazon. Great value.
