Most people do not get enough fiber. Benefiber is a good supplement that is very easy to take. It is tasteless, so you can add it to any liquid or even sprinkle it on your food. With that said; There are alternatives that are less expensive and just as good. My wife uses this product while I prefer Fiber Choice. Always read the labels to determine the amount of fiber that you are actually getting in a dosage. And compare.Customer Review: It can give you gas

I started using Benefiber a few months ago in an attempt to better control my chronic constipation and IBS. I had stuck with Benefiber for its tasteless, gritless properties and ease in mixing with anything. I mean... fiber is fiber, right? And it's so much more tolerable than Metamucil, so it seems a no-brainer, right? Well despite taking it as directed (which includes drinking plenty of water), I found that it simply didn't help me at all. If anything, it worsened my constipation. So I decided to re-assess my alternatives. I finally decided to give Metamucil another whirl. Yeah, I hate the grittiness, the clumping, but I had to get this under control. After a couple days of using Metamucil, my constipation markedly improved and so far, it seems to be well under control. So why did Metamucil succeed where Benefiber failed?
To understand why Benefiber failed so miserably, it's important to know why fiber is important in the diet and how it makes one "regular". The intent for the fiber is to absorb water while in the colon. In doing do, it swells up to add bulk to the stool and provide a "gel-like" texture to it so the stool moves through easily. This is what Metamucil does (it's obvious really.... just look at it a couple minutes after adding it to water) and why it's so effective, even if it is somewhat unpleasant to take. Now if you look at Benefiber's properties, it's clear that it does the exact opposite. By design, it dissolves completely in liquid and doesn't thicken up at all so it's more pleasant to take. Well there's not much point to being pleasant if it doesn't do the job required of it, right? So Benefiber gets a 5 for tolerability and ease of use, but a 0 for effectiveness, which is what really counts.

Yes, it is fiber and they claim you could benefit with a diet of 25 to 35 grams of FIBER per day according to the American Dietetic Association.
(Benefit how? they do not tell us on the label or who is the ADA?)
But, look close; benefiber gives you 3 grams of Fiber per serving.
If you use a digital scale as I have you will to your surprise discover that one heaping teaspoon actually weighs 3.5 grams.
AND, they are telling you to use two tsp which is actually a double dose, right in their supplement facts, printed right on the label.
The dose on the package states 2 tsp or (3.5 grams)
But to my surprise my digital scale 3.5 grams is not 2 tsps it is only one heaping tsp.
Supplies you with 3 grams of fiber they claim.
But you might be actually taking a double dose and not knowing it, but paying for it.
But, think about it, one good tasting bran muffin could supply you with 9 grams of dietary fiber. And a bran muffin taste better too! (that is triple the fiber of one single benefiber dose)
So the price of Benefiber is actually very expensive.
Too expensive but, Nice Clear Fiber!
