I had a Soleil Sunrise clock before this and it was just a night light. The BioBrite is a 60 watt bulb--a real light. I also love the other features:
* Dimmable bedside light for reading or soft lighting
* Security option so light comes on at random intervals from 4-11pm as if the house is occupied
* Nightlight option
* LCD display fades to low level when it is in night mode
I have the one with white noise and it is wonderful.

I love my biobright alarm clock. I have been sleeping better and in a better mood waking up. It takes a little getting used to and you have to experiment with the settings to find out the best way to wake yourself up. I was skeptical whether it would wake be up because I am a very deep sleeper and would sleep through an audible alarm clock for at least 30 min. But the light wakes me up right away. Perfect for those of us in noisy neighborhoods who sleep with earplugs.Customer Review: I heart this clock!

This clock has changed my life! I actually wake up naturally refreshed in the morning instead of being jarred awake by a screaming alarm clock. The clock is expensive yes, but it has been worth every penny for me.
The sunset feature with the white noise is actually a nice feature as well because I have a hard time falling asleep.
If you have a hard time waking up to audio alarms, then get this clock, it will work for you. :)
