Customer Reviews of Biokleen Citrus Automatic Dish Powder, 2-Lb. Tubs (Pack of 12)Customer Review: Pretty good dish detergent - my present choice Summary: 4 Stars
Bought a case of 12. I started out using just one scoop. The glasses didn't look too good and my lip gloss prints were still seen. I used 1 1/2 scoops (the half is in the 2nd wash thingy). Now I used 2 full scoops and I use the Heavy soil cycle and the dishes/glasses came out very nice. I don't know if it's economic compared to Cascade but it seems to be better for the environment and the scent is to my liking so I'm pretty happy with this product.
Customer Review: Good Earth friendly alternative Summary: 4 Stars
This dish powder works extremely well and is a great alternative to those with phosphates and chlorine bleach. Only down side is that it does leave some residue for items that collect water (upside down cups, lids with ridges etc.) We just give an extra rinse before storing away and all is good.
Customer Review: Just okay... Summary: 3 Stars
This dishwasher detergent is okay. I've been trying to start using more environmentally friendly products, so I tried this out. I'm the type who likes to test the limits of my dishwasher, so I often put stuff in there that has caked on food, like egg yolks and dried almond butter on the butter knives. This detergent doesn't do the trick with these things. It was also leaving small rust stains on my silverware, which I've never encountered with Electrasol All-in-1's (which is the only thing I use). I suppose if I wanted to take the time to rinse and wipe my dishes before loading them into the dishwasher, then this would be a good product. But, what's the point of that! The dishwasher is supposed to wash the dishes! So, I guess I really just test the limits of the detergent I use and Electrasol wins for me!
BUT - instead of wasting the can of this, I went to refill my sprinkly can of baking soda I use to clean the sinks and tubs in my bathrooms and thought, "What the heck! It's mild enough to use on dishes, so why not try it out as a bathroom cleaner!" So, I mixed up half of this dishwashing detergent with half baking soda and used it to clean. It did a great job! It scrubbed up my sinks and tubs with no scratches and it made them shine really nicely. The day after I cleaned my girlfriend was over and asked me what I used to clean the tub because it was so shiny and clean. I told her what I'd used and send some home with her! I might actually keep buying it to use for a "Comet" or "Ajax" type of cleaner.
Customer Review: $71.39 strong citus smell Summary: 3 Stars
This arrived with one bottle in the corner cracked and leaking powder. I am replacing my dwindling supply of Seventh Generation because 7thGen is packaged in cardboard and most of them were leaky. 7thGen had no smell which is fine because Cascade smells dangerous. BiOKleen's smell is hard to ignore.
P.S. after a few months, I have found this to be much better than 7th Gen. Dishes come out cleaner with this product than with 7th Gen.
Customer Review: Does the Job Summary: 3 Stars
The price is right, and it gets the job done. I never noticed the excessive citric odor mentioned in some reviews. Want cleaner dishes? Pre-rinse your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, set the dishwasher to use HOT water, don't let food dry on the dishes, and prevent hardwater blockages of the dishwasher's water jets by running vinegar, Glisten or citric acid crystals through the dishwasher once a month. (See my review for Glisten).
