Customer Reviews of Boudreaux's Butt Paste Diaper Rash Ointment Jar -- 16 ozCustomer Review: It didn't work for us at all!! Summary: 1 Stars
After seeing Boudreaux's Butt Paste on Oprah I thought wow.... this stuff must be amazing. My 18 month old son had only had diaper rash once since he was born and I have always used a diaper cream barrier. We tried it and with in one day his bottom was red and irritated. When I looked at the ingredients label I noticed that it only has 16% Zinc Oxide as compared to other brands such as Desitin with 40%. Just wanted to let other know that it isn't always as great as it sounds. For those of you who had luck with it great but I have to say I would not recommend it. At least for us it didn't work at all. I actually have two more unopened boxes that I am not even going to use.
Customer Review: Definitely Not a pleasant smell! Summary: 1 Stars
I had read that this paste has a pleasant smell and I couldn't disagree more. Also, the size tub that I purchased is awkward to use once you get closer to the bottom. Every time I reach in to get the cream it smears all over my knuckles as well. I don't think that this cream has worked to heal my son's diaper rash at all. Other people say the rash clears up within a day, but my son's rashes last much longer than that. For the amount of money I spent on this I felt like I had to finish the tub, but thank goodness it is almost all gone and I can try a new cream.
Customer Review: Use Caution. Summary: 1 Stars
I don't like to give 1 star reviews, but...
After reading the great reviews, I went out in the night to get this for my daughter's sudden diaper rash. I wanted to get the best treatment for her red bottom.
She screamed like crazy after it was applied. I switched to regular Desitin and AD that I had around the house, and she was instantly comforted.
Now, reading Mr Ditto's review, I see she isn't the only child to have that reaction. What a waste of $4.30 and my time, trying to comfort my daughter.
Never again.
Customer Review: Doesn't work at all Summary: 1 Stars
I tried Butt paste and have to say it didn't work for my baby's rash. In fact, the rash got worse after I applied it. I don't know why I paid all this money when other products had more Zinc Oxide in them and do a better job. I just did an internet search and found that Desitin and Pinxav both have more than twice as much Zinc oxide as butt paste. Zinc oxide is the ingredient that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends first and foremost for treating a diaper rash. I won't be using butt paste ever again. What a waste of money.
Customer Review: Nice scent is subjective, average results Summary: 1 Stars
This paste did no more to clear my son's rash than any other product. I also happen to think the scent isn't so nice, I found it rather strong and displeasing. You're better off for the money and smell factor to buy burt's bees or Dr. Sheffield's diaper rash cream. To date, I've never seen a rash cream with more zinc thatn Sheffield's but it's hard to find. Try ebay.
