*This means the dimensions that would actually be used for a hole mounting, as the face of the hygrometer would sit above the finish surface.
I have not installed it in my hygrometer, but I will trust its accuracy. However, if you have a decent and consistent humidifier, the hyrometer's accuracy +/- 1 or 2% is not important. If you get an analog hygrometer like this one, you shouldn't care about accuracy over appearance, otherwise you will be looking for a digital hygrometer. It is of very high quality, with good weight, solid construction, and handsome appearance. I am building a $2,000+ custom humidor and it qualifies amongst the high quality materials and hardware I am using.
