It makes a big difference when your electric razor is clean. It cuts better and doesn't drop whiskers all over the counter. I make sure my Braun razor is always as clean as it can be by ensuring that there's a Clean & Renew refill in the base. And I'd never consider buying my refills anywhere but Amazon. I purchased this through subscribe and save for use with my Braun 790 system. I am very happy with the shaver, but I really like how it automatically cleans and smells fresh every time I use it. This item does ship slower than other subscribe and save items because the contents are flammable, which is understandable. These cleaning inserts which cannot be refilled turn out to be fairly expensive. One insert barely lasts a month if you shave regularly.SInce there is solvent inside the container, you cannot recycle the plastic. It feels wasteful.
On the other hand, I don't get little skin infections like I used to with a conventional electric razor. This is really a guilty pleasure.

If you have a Braun Shaver, you owe it to yourself (and your face!) to take care of it with these refills. Sure, you COULD clean it yourself...but that wasn't why you bought the self-cleaning shaver, was it? The refills now ship from Amazon, and with the discount and free super-saver shipping, are now a better deal than buying them at a brick-and-morter store.Customer Review: replacement foil

This did improve both the closeness and ease of my shave after I replaced the original (now 18 months old). I had noticed some irritation on my skin when using the old foil, but it has disappeared after three or four days with the new foil. Highly recommended replacement, particularly if you are finding the old foil to require many more passes.
