I am a blade man. Always have been. And I hate electric razors. Always have. But my schedule has left me with little time and an inconsistent day. So I kept forgetting to shave and was forced to plant a blade at work. Great idea unless you are hit with everything when you walk through the door. Long story short, I caved and looked for an electric razor. I bought this one based on price and reviews. It really is the best electric shaver I have seen. And that it is available for $20.00 was a bonus. Does it shave as well as a blade? No. Does it provide a darn good shave on a thick beard, yes - very much so.Customer Review: PocketGo go go long time

I bought this little shaver 3 years ago for a 6-month trip around the world. Now each time I have a trip, it comes along to keep the luggage weight down. I'm quite surprised how well it's held up. The design is excellent... swivel cap (protects shave head), safety lock switch button, secure battery compartment, side burn trimmer, cleaning brush and last but not least, you can clean the shave head by running water through it! It's no power shaver but each set of batteries goes a long time. Considering I got it for [...]buckaroos, I'm keeping it till it dies.
Next trip... 4 weeks in SE Asia.

I originally bought this shaver from a local drug store before heading out of town. I was leaving for an extended trip to a location where I wouldn't have easy access to electricity. During that trip, I grew to love this little shaver. After returning home, I continued using it for about 7 more years before needing to replace it. I replaced the blades & foil a couple times. Though it wasn't always easy to find replacements in local stores, I'm sure the internet will solve this problem for me in the future. I like this shaver so much, and it's so inexpensive, that I bought two this time around.Customer Review: Great Value

This is the best electric shaver I have ever used (it beats out a 100+ self cleaning super deluxe shaver). It is easy to use, clean, and replace the batteries. It gives a reasonable shave. I use mine every day and keep a spare one around just in case.
As a gift, I have given it to my dad (favorable results!), as well as a family member who has Downs Syndrome (and therefore has trouble using a blade). Apparently he uses it all the time, and I have been requested to get two more shavers for him (and that is what I am going to do when I am done writing this review).

I have had 3 Norelco shavers in the past. My 3rd one got wet and quit working. I didn't want to pay $40 to $100 for another electric. Quite by chance, I discovered this Braun. I couldn't believe the low price. I bought it and was skeptical at first about its abilities. My beard is tough also. It does a remarkably good job of shaving plain and simple. I can't believe it runs on 2 AA batteries and I can't believe it can be cleaned under running water. The overall design is very nice. Somebody put some thought into the design. I will be buying another one to put away.
