I've been using this electric razor for about 8 years. Great design, as usual, from Braun.
Operation was getting a bit sporadic this past year. Seemed like a poor connection somewhere. Found that it improved a lot when I started keeping the shaver in the drybox. We live in Taiwan, and it is HUMID.
I finally opened it up the other day, and a small spring and parts shot across the room. Luckily I found them all, but it did take a while to figure out where they fit in.
Found a corroded contact and polished it up. I was just reassembling when that spring took off again, along with its plastic retainer bit. Couldn't find them this time. Oh well.
Assembled the remains and now it shaves with improved vigor.
The missing parts supplied click stops to the rotating shell, which gave good quality feel, but had nothing to do with actual shaving.
Did you see something flying across the room? That was my quality feel.
Still shaves great. Will buy again in a heartbeat if one crosses my path.
Just noticed that I have to affirm that "I am over the age of 13" before I submit this review. Oh, right. A person under 13 wouldn't know anything about shavers. Makes sense.

For day-to-day shaves it does an adequate job and will keep you looking good. It isn't a $200 shaver--so don't expect a $200 shave. If you use it every day, you'll be happy with the decent shave. When I went for more than three days between shaves, it didn't give as clean a shave on my neck--though my face shaved fine. I have a fairly sensitive neck and this shaver did not cause any razor burn whatsoever. Best shaves occur when you hold the head as perpendicular to the area being shaved as you can. Shaving was about as fast as a regular electric shaver.
East to use, easy to clean. Wet shave feature is a nice option--I didn't really see any advantage when I wet shave, but the wet shave does make cleaning the shaver easier. Runs forever on one set of batteries. Travels very well.
Yeah, I was skeptical that a shaver under $20 would give me anything more than severe razor burn--boy was I wrong. In this case, at least for me, the inexpensive price tag does not equate to the quality of the shave. I did buy and try several other portable shavers--this one beat them all. I'd buy another one in a heart beat.

I've owned several electric shavers over the years (Braun and Panasonic) from different price ranges and the Braun PocketGo P-70 shaves as good or better than any of the others. I had originally purchased it almost two years ago as strictly a 'travel' shaver to use on trips, but it quickly became my 'every day' shaver because of the quality of the shave and ease of use. A fresh set of AA's probably lasts me between 10-15 shaves before I begin to notice that they need replacing ...and when I say 'begin to notice', it's because it takes awhile for a set of AA's to gradually discharge to the point that this shaver becomes unusable (the shaver won't just quit on you, it gives you plenty of warning that you'll be needing a new set of batteries).
I've been so pleased with this shaver, I recently purchased a second one that I've tucked away still sealed in its packaging for that time when the one that I'm currently using finally lives out its life (e.g. the foil and/or blades need replacing). At less than $20, it's easier just to purchase an entire new unit rather than swapping out pieces on a used one.

Customer Review: It's an electric shaver, why all the hype?

The last couple of years I've used a blade, (the brand that vibrates) because while this may be changing,
many lower-end shavers come with ni-cad batteries that prefer to be drained all the way before recharging.
Which means you buy two or have to burn calories keeping track of usage.
Higher end shavers may use li-ion but since two lower end shavers cost less than one higher end I could never
justify the price.
The Braun PocketGo P-70 Men's Shaver is the best of both worlds, it feels well made and designed by someone
who can think about how things SHOULD work.
Swapping out batteries on this thing isn't just easy, it hints at how this should be handled by every device.
The flip cover for the foil can't be lost or dropped, the blade itself gave a close shave,
and like I said before it has a solid feeling. Not heavy like a brick, but not flimsy or chintzy.
The real problem I'm having at the moment is a quandary.
This thing seems like it should last for years, but at these prices how can I not buy a spare?

If this had sold for three times the cost, I still would have thought I got more than my money's worth. As soon as I took it out of one of Amazon's easy open shipping packages (Yea, Amazon) and installed the batteries (twist the bottom and pull)I know I was gonna love it because it reminded me of a Braun corded razor from years ago. But this one doesn't nick or leave red skin. It is awfully powerful for an AA battery powered shaver. In seven minutes I had a shave as good as any of my Norelco corded shavers (at a fraction of the cost).
So far I've gotten over 21 shaves from one set of AA alkline batteries and it's still going strong. This product is what all battery powered electric shavers should be. I'm buying a couple more to stow in my several briefcases and bags. Imagine: no downtime while recharging!If you are miserly, use rechargable AA batteries for hundreds of uses before discarding them. Buying a great product from among all the shavers on the market is a tribute to Amazon's review system. When you see a product get over four stars, you know you're likely to get a good deal.
