Customer Reviews of Braun PocketGo P-70 Men's Shaver

Customer Review: Better than a $185 Panasonic Vortex
Summary: 5 Stars

That's right I returned the Panasonic Vortex after 3 weeks when I bought this funky little gizmo! It's true I had the fancy rechargeable thing, but it didn't dry-shave as close, took longer and constantly needed to be recharged.

This gives an incredibly comfortable smooth shave, quick to use, easy to clean, washable, good battery life so far (3 weeks strong with daily use & still going), can be slipped into your bag/briefcase, easy for touch ups, great for travel as no separate plugs needed, the spin-over foil protection also stops it being switched on by accident.

One bad thing is the awkward sideburn trimmer other than that, you should definately buy one.

I'm buying another so I can keep one in the car/office and one at home, at the bargain price of $15 today you can't go wrong.

Customer Review: Gives a close, comfortable shave
Summary: 5 Stars

I had an earlier model Braun travel shaver that was mediocre--a little weak in shaving power and it would sometimes turn on from movement in my travel bag. This one has plenty of power, the microscreen allows for a very close shave, plus it has a rotating lock on the switch that prevents it from accidentally turning itself on. In fact, I like this shaver so well that, even though I ordinarily use a blade, sometimes I'll pick it up at home for a quick shave or an evening touch-up before going out.
One drawback--while it generally shaves as close as a blade, if I skip a day in shaving and have two days' worth of beard, this shaver has a little trouble cutting--it tends to slide over the matted down hairs somewhat and it takes some work to get them all cut. I think that's characteristic of microscreen shavers.

Customer Review: Perfect travel shaver
Summary: 5 Stars

I have tried lots of travel shavers over the years and this is THE best. It has good power, gives a nice shave, and is still small. The design is excellent because the foil is very well protected against damage in luggage and the lock system is secure so it will not accidentally turn ON when squished in your luggage. I just took it to Costa Rica and it was still running fine after 15 days of shaves on the same set of 2 AA batteries. You don't have to carry a lot of spare batteries. The quality of shave is very high for a travel razor which is great on a long trip. I can handle a poor shave for a couple days but not for weeks. I have tried the Eltron 3030 (a toy) and Panasonic and others. The Braun P70/370 is the best and an amazing deal at $15 or $20. I am getting a spare or two in case it goes out of production.

Customer Review: Best Electric Razor I've Ever Owned
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a very tough beard, and before this razor I had basically resigned myself to a life of permanent five o'clock shadow. Regular razors give me razor burn, and electric shavers with the three circular blades arranged in a triangle just don't work for me. I used to think I was just using poor quality razors and I bought myself a $100+ electric shaver from Philips, but I was not impressed. When that one suddenly broke, I found myself in need of another razor, but I was in no mood to spend lots of money. I bought this Braun razor on a whim and it's FANTASTIC! And only $20?! You cannot get a closer shave unless you shave against the grain with a regular razor, which will almost certainly give you razor burn. Also, this razor works both dry and in the shower with shaving cream, depending on your preference.

Customer Review: Inexpensive. Not cheap.
Summary: 5 Stars

I was not expecting anything with this purchase. One of those things where it would be ok to lose, and not lose money. However, I actually feel like I should buy another for backup.

Everything about this shaver will exceed your expectations as well. The portability, the convenience, the design, quality, and more importantly, the function. I am a razor guy. But there are rare times I don't have time for that. So I just wanted a dry shaver backup... however, you can get this thing wet, take it apart and wash it etc. No wires. Two AA batteries. No case, with a sliding foil cover. And the simple setting of "on". It shaves close, and does it well. How long it will last, I have no idea. Blade replacement?... no clue. For this price, it does not matter. Get two.
