I bought this for travel. I usually use a large Norelco, but for the price this seemed like it was worth a try. I used it everyday for two weeks on a trip to China using the included alkaline batteries and it still has plenty of juice left. It is small and light (half the size and weight of a Norelco) and has a flip over guard to protect the heads so it doesn't require a separate case. It shaves very close, closer than my Norelco. The only difference is that it is not as gentle on the skin as some other razors.
It is a perfect travel razor. Battery life is good, batteries available most anywhere and one doesn't have to worry about voltage converters for travel outside of the U.S. (see my review of Kensington 33117 International All-in-One Travel Plug Adapter).......

I ran around England and Scotland for a few weeks and much of the time unshaven. This wasn't by choice, no, I simply couldn't find places to plug in my shaver much of the time since I was staying in hostels. What I really needed was a battery powered shaver but my prior experience with these left me not too excited at the prospect. Travel razors have tended to be wimpy things that didn't produce great shaves. Well, I can't say the shave from the Braun 370 is as good as my $100 shaver but it's darned good! Not only does it produce a very decent shave but it's self contained (flip cover), stylishly designed, water resistant, has a sideburns trimmer, and it lasts a long time on batteries. The Braun 370 is now a permanent part of my travel toiletries. Recommended.Customer Review: It indeed works

I am a first time electric shave user. I tried it once almost 10 years ago and it had really irritated my skin then. So I was reluctant about trying electric shavers again. But now I have to go to a place where there is no water to shave for a month. I decided to give this little guy a try mostly bacause of the small size, being operated by AA and very low price.
It works really well. Even after my first try there was almost no irritation. Yes, it misses some hair at the neck area (which caused the only irritation since I really pushed hard to shave those few hair in the neck). But still it is impressive for the first try. I also loved the protective cap. Altough it is larger than other pocket shavers I have seen I will still give it a 5 star.

Bought this little shaver several years ago in Berlin when BA lost my luggage in Heathrow. Still use it and love it. Use it for travel to bring in my carry-on luggage and still use it every day as it gets those areas which a large Panasonic (nice but more expensive) doesn't get. Only complaint: Replacement parts (foil and blade) cost as much as a new shaver. Not very sustainable for the environment but guess what. Ordered a new one and will keep the other one as backup/work shaver as it still works, only would like after 5 years or so to exchange the blade.
EDIT Since using it nothing to add other than in this newer model the long hair cutter is considerable smaller and sideways, rather than in parallel to the main one.

So I'm the kind of guy who likes to use a normal razor first and then clean-up and get really close shave using the Shaver. This little guy is simply amazing! I've been using Braun for years, but always had issues especially when traveling where the darn things would turn on. And you always need that recharger cable -- another pain in the butt.
The folks at Braun did a fantastic job with the design where you cannot turn on the thing if it is locked with the cover over. The battery life is very good with 2 double AAs (easily get a few months if you shave like I do with wet razor first).
Alright, stop reading all the reviews and just order this. For $15, how can you go wrong.
