It was difficult to get used to at first. But after a while your skin gets used to it and it doesn't hurt at all. Do not let the hair get too long!!!This is a tip for first timers: grow the hair out, get it waxed at a salon and only start using this when the hair starts growing back. Or shave and only use this as the stubble grows in. Do not let the hair get too long - that's when it is uncomfortable. This get's teeny tiny hairs and lasts for as long as waxing -- my legs are so smooth and pretty now.
Caution -- you can't go back to shaving or you'll get ingrown hairs. Exfoliate regularly, too.

I had never tried an epilator, I decided to buy one because my cousins were telling me how they used one for their legs and their legs were hairless for weeks! After they telling me that I should expect to spend around $50 or $60 on one I saw this one for $32 and decided to buy it and I have to say I loved it, it did a great job, I used it over two weeks ago and I still dare to use shorts because the hairs that have grown are very light and not noticeable. But it did hurt the first time, and I am used to waxing everywere. Still will keep using it, I am now in the search for one for facial hairs.Customer Review: Nice epilator

I shared a Philips ice epilator with my sister before this one (which was really great), but when I moved to U.S. I bought Braun SE3170 Silk-épil SoftPerfection Epilator. Initially I was looking for one with ice, but could not find any appropriate offered at the time. This, however, works well for me and I guess price-wise is also a good deal. It is small, light (in case you want to take it for travel), easy to use and works for both 110 and 220 V (might be important to Europeans like me).Customer Review: The best hair removal product out there

For any women struggling with too much unwanted hair on their legs, there is no better product. I won't lie, it hurts a bit but after the first time it gets better. The tips are to do it right after you take a shower and when your hair is not too long. It's better than messy at-home waxing and shaving every day, you avoid the stubble and it feels as smooth as a professional wax, without the cost. I lived in Europe for a number of years, most women there use it and I was always disappointed that the US didn't have an equivalent product. It does what it is supposed to do. I don't think it hurts. Drawbacks: My legs aren't as smooth as when I shave, and I do have to use a loofah to avoid ingrown hairs, and the hair has to be long enough for the tweezers to grab the hair. Pros: Its nice to have the hair gone for days. I don't have to worry about getting goose bumps and all the hair on my legs popping out like when I shave. I don't have to think, I can't put on shorts or a swimsuit because I didn't shave today. I tried it on the bikini line, yes it hurts a little, BUT hair free for over a week so far!
