I was recently paralyzed from the waste down in a household accident. My Brother-in-Law gave me this razor in the Rehab. It's was great during my recovering in that I didn't have the best balance or coordination.
I condition to use it post rehab and love the built in trimmer. The only negative thing I have to say about the unit is it just doesn't shave my neck close enough, but I understand most shavers do I have this problem.
I also just had plastic surgery on my lip and chin and the Braun makes it a hell of alot easier to shave around the stitches and bruising.
Andy, you're a great Brother-In-Law, thanks for the great gift.

Braun 8995 360 Complete Men's ShaverI thought the automatic cleaning facility would not be used as I was always very methodical about cleaning my old Braun razor but I have to say I am now a total convert to the automatic cleaning, it is so nice to pick up a fresh clean razor every morning. The new design of cutters for getting long hairs is much better, I always used to have a problem in one part of my neck but not now. The shaver also gives a quieter smoother shave.
I am very pleased with my purchase and as usual with the service from Amazon.

The self cleaning is the greatest feature! Just put your razor in the base and press clean, no more pulling the foil off and brushing the blades. I have been using this razor for over a month (change the cleaning refil after a month) now and it is still as fresh as the first day I used it. Nice clean shave and NO irratation at all! I actually look forward to shaving with this razor. The only thing that could use improving on is the trimmer, it is a little small but with a little practice, you'll get the hang of it. Overall I am very happy with it and would not hesitate to recomend it to anyone. I've been using Braun razors for many years now (several models) and I can say that this one is by far the best I've yet used. It shaves as close (or maybe a bit closer) as the others, it's very quiet compared to previous models and the cleaner/charger base is a handy way to store the razor. I only clean the razor once a week. Also, I get around the cleaning-solution-evaporation problem by taking the cleaning fluid cartridge out (and re-capping) after every cleaning. I'm also looking into using just straight denatured alcohol instead of the stock solution (supposedly just SD alcohol and fragrance).

I've only had the shaver for a month or so but I absolutely love it. I absolutely hate shaving. The razor's always give me razor burn and it always seems like I am late for something (sometimes work) because I needed to shave. With the Braun I can do a quick shave in just a minute or two and I dont' have to worry about razor burn, shaving cream or keeping sharp razor's on hand. I don't even have to clean the Braun with the self cleaning/charging stand that is included. I would recommend this shaver to anyone. The only thing is you do have to give your skin/hair a little time to adjust to it just like the manual says.
