I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter than has been fighting extremely severe eczema since she was 4 months old. I have tried every prescription and non-prescription medication out there. I began to suspect the detergent was causing many of her problems so I then tried 4 different detergents. Nothing helped and I felt helpless. I then read a story about a mom using soap rather than detergent for her child with the same skin problem as my daughter. I tried it, desperate. The stuff is a miracle. I think I need to go and hug the creator of this product. Her skin cleared up and is soft again for the first time since she was born (no joke). Over the weekend she wore a pair of jeans that had not yet been washed with the soap and that night her legs were covered with red marks again. 2 days later of wearing clothes washed with soap, she is clear. I have now taken everything out of her closet and rewashed it. This product has saved my life, but most important, made my daughter much happier!Customer Review: Saved my sheets!

While I was pregnant, we used cocoa butter on my belly. It was lovely. After a while, though, the oil turned rancid in our sheets. It didn't matter how often I washed them with hot water, lots of detergent, and even a little bleach a couple of times. Nothing worked. I was planning on throwing most of our sheets away because they were so very smelly.
On a whim, I tried one more time, this time with Charlie's Soap and a scoop of oxy-clean. It's what I use on our baby's diapers, and we've never had problems with stink or stains.
It did the trick. I don't need to go out and buy new sheets. For the first time in a Long time, all of our sheets smell clean.

I first purchased Charlie's Soap upon the recommendation of a friend. I was preparing to use cloth diapers with my second child, and I needed a detergent that would be gentle for my baby and for the diapers. The diapers come out very clean (with appropriate care). I love that the product is not scented and environmentally-friendly. After using this product for a couple of months for diapers only, we switched to using it full time for all of our laundry. I'll never use a regular detergent again. Our clothes are fresher, softer, and not filled with chemicals.
It's been 3 years now, and we are preparing for Baby #3. It's Charlie's Soap for another round of diapers and for all of our laundry care. In part because of Charlie's Soap, our very well-worn diapers are just fine for another baby.
The product is economical as well. You need very little, and the 2.64 lb. container goes a long way.

I buy everything on Amazon, but this is officially my first review. Charlie's Laundry Soap is incredible. My search for laundry detergent has come to an end (Amazon, please keep this product eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping FOREVER). Initially bought this to use on BumGenius cloth diapers, but now I am using it exclusively. There is no fragrance whatsoever (I am VERY sensitive to smell), the clothes just smell really clean. This gets the musty, mildew smell out that no other detergent I've used has been able to do (I had used Tide Free & Clear and All Free & Clear in the past). The clothes are also softer using Charlie's. HE machines recommend using powder detergents as well, so this is good for those types of machines. The bag is great and super easy to open and close and the scoop they include is perfect. I can not say enough good things about this product. I ran across Charlie's Soap about 5 years ago when I was trying to purge my home of potential causes for my then-infant son's extreme eczema. I cannot honestly say any of my efforts made any noticeable difference in his eczema, but I totally fell in love with Charlie's Soap. I love it because:
1) you use so little --- 1 Tbsp per load, so there is little to store.
2) my clothes are reliably clean, soft, and odor-free
3) while it didn't make a dent in the eczema, I found that I really preferred it when I got rid of all the perfumed products we were using. I used a regular detergent ONCE after years of Charlie's Soap and I ended up having to rewash everything and give away the detergent -- I just couldn't stand it.
4) I like dealing with a family business
I also use the spray cleaner, and I gotta tell you --- that stuff will clean just about anything. Love it!
