I was surprised at how well this soap cleaned and softened. I tried it because of the other reviews that I had read and I couldn't believe that a laundry detergent could soften clothes without a fabric softener - but I was wrong!! I does work without any type of fabric softener, liquid or dryer sheets. I have a front loading washer and it works perfectly. My clothes come out of the dryer with barely a wrinkle! When you take into consideration the price per bag and how many loads you can do (and yes you DO just use one tablespoon) plus the fact you don't have to purchase a seperate fabric softener, you're saving a bundle!!! AND your clothes look and feel better too. Good old fashioned clean!! I definitely will purchase this again. If your on the fence, give it a try. This laundry soap was recommended by Fuzzi Bunz to be hard enough on their diapers yet gentle enough on the rest of our clothes - it works! I followed their direction carefully, to make sure my washer was first cleared of all those chemicals. I have been using this detergent on my entire family's laundry for 3 months now and love how easy it is. Just one capful (included) into the water, add clothes, and sit back and enjoy how soft and clean your clothes get. No smelly stuff added, just down-home clean. I ended up giving away all my Free and Clear detergents, this stuff just works better. And they say to reuse the cloth bag it comes in (has a plastic baggy liner) and so I have. I decided to try Charlie's Soap because my child has sensitive skin, and a friend uses it to clean her cloth diapers. I figured if it can get cloth diapers clean, it can get my laundry clean. And it does! With conventional detergent, we had been double rinsing the laundry. We have a well, and double rinsing the clothes felt irresponsible. Enter Charlie's Soap. It cleans great, leaves no residue, and my clothes feel better. I have seen no fading or any negatives to note, even on black and delicates. I combine Charlie's with Oxi-Clean and/or Borax, since we have hard water. I also use a 1/3 cup of vinegar as my fabric softener. Now with baby #2 in the picture, I'm doing even more laundry. It's a relief to know this stuff will get the job done, is eco-friendly, and is gentle to our family's skin.Customer Review: Awesome product

this is great for laundering cloth diapers. it doesn't leave oils or residue (like other detergents) which can build up on cloth diapers. it actually helps get some of those oils and residues out. i switched from using dr. bronners soaps to launder cloth diapers to using charlies soap and it has been a HUGE improvement. i love dr. bronners, but the oils in the castile soap left my daughters diapers less absorbant. i noticed a big difference after just a couple washes with charlies soap. it takes care of any foul odors as well, and leaves the cloth diapers soft and you can tell they get clean! good feeling to the skin :)
this is a really good price for the item listed as well. other sites list the same product for twice as much.

This is great stuff. I was using Method liquid laundry detergent. Love it, but not the price. Thought I would give this a try. I don't use dryer sheets anymore... don't have to. Clothes come out smelling like they were line dried outside, which I remember doing from childhood. Sheets, blankets, comforters smell wonderful! Just so clean and fresh.. not really a smell. I have allergies and sinus issues so I am loving Charlie's. I recently moved and the movers got grease on my favorite comforter for winter. 2 large streaks. Washed it with 1.5 Tablespoons, then washed again using 1 Tablespoon. Only a very faint spot remains. 1 spot was totally removed. Couldn't believe it. Thanks Amazon for selling Charlie's. I would never have know about it otherwise.
