I have been using Charlies Soap for about a year. I love it. It is economical and great for cloth diapers. Please note that we have a water softener. I have heard of complaints using it with hard water. We have experienced no problems. I have a front load washing machine which can make cloth diapers tricky. We have had no amonia problems with our diapers. With the diapers I also use a tiny amount of Borax. I have also used Country Save which is also a great choice. If you have hard water it is better than Charlies from what I have learned from Cloth diapering websites. My sister had hard water and used Country Save. She just got a water softerner so if she has problems I will reply back. When we used Country Save we had a hard time getting just the right amount without having too many suds, but that being said I hate my washing machince. So in short from my experience Country Save is better for hard water and Charlies is better for softwater.
