These seeds are as good as it gets. Mother Nature providing the real essence for rebuilding, dehydrating, energizing the faithful self. All aspects of the seed are a welcome sight. How many times we have been given the solution in the form of a revitalizing ancient seed? Those who heed the call and apply it to our modern lives will surely reap the rewards intended. God knows I can use all the edge I can get right about now and this option seems, actually is, a no brainer. Economical, versatile and downright exciting. Yes, while the world keeps spinning and the news keep flooding us with relentless ups and downs, this Chia Seed is all about up beat momentum. Bought mine from the same place here in Amazon. Was cordially greeted from two individuals who appear to be in tune with themselves, removing all possible negativism from the pre conceived consumer that dwells inside me. I needed something, anything, to push forward, to achieve something better and Chia Seeds are in a tiny size a good way to achieve higher goals. Ancient civilizations used them for durable hydration. Now a little more modern one discovers a thing of beauty and hope. Beauty because they play and absorb water, little tiny formations that are plain fun to see. Hope because any good news, specially news about health these days, can and will renew the inner belief that we were all born with, but that with time, for the weary travelers, it seemed to dilute and loose its once vigorous shine. Hope is a renewable thing and with these seeds and their health merits I have discovered a glimmer deep within of a happier kind. I guess that when the body feels good and knows it, the once not too long ago darker tones suddenly, like a fresh breeze or a joyful realization, like a ray of light illuminating the path that is righteous, all colors gather intensity and who cares if I must pee like a racehorse. As I ingest thousands of the little seeds in a whirlpool of clean water, suddenly I say to myself: "It sure feels like a long time since I rated a product with 5 very bright stars!"Customer Review: Cha-Cha-Cha-Chia!

I never thought I'd be eating chia seeds (Salvia Hispanica), but it just goes to show that you never know.
I'd heard about it and done some research and am thrilled that something so rich in Omega-3s, anitoxidants, complete protiens and vitamins can be had at such a good price. And yes, it was the price that drew me to this particular brand -- less than half what you would pay for it at a health food store even with shipping. The 2lb version was shipped in sealed, sturdy plastic bags in a Priority Mail envelope. I suppose there is a chance it could get damaged in shipping but mine arrived fine and fast!
The seeds themselves are good quality. Dry, they taste a bit like poppy seeds. These can be mixed into other foods or grounds into a meal. I don't bother, I eat them as is. Another option is to make them into the "chia gel" (or jelly, or 'slime' as my brother calls it). Combine 1/3 of a cup of seeds with 2 cups of warm water and mix well. As the seeds sit they quickly absorb 10x to 12x their size in water. After a few hours you have a thick gel that with the black seeds looks a bit like small froggs eggs. The consitency reminds me a bit of tapioca or even a little like okra, but it has a neutral flavor and mixes easily with anything. You can even use it to replace fats and oils when baking! This gel stores for about 2 weeks in the refridgerator and can be cosumed as needed. The dry seed can be stored indefinitely, a big plus over flax seeds as they can go rancid.
Do some research on the web and then give them a try. I think you might become chia nut like I've become!

The business side first: Great price. Came in a heavy duty, resealable bag, fast shipping.
Over the past year I developed severe acid reflux. Extremely painful while sleeping and sometimes during the day. I hated the medication I took to control this. A friend recommended these and I did some research and it seemed to back up here opinion. I make the gel, mix it with a smoothie for breakfast, a heaping tablespoon, and the first day my acid reflux was under control. I'm not a doctor and don't want to seem like I'm even slightly giving someone medical advice just explaining why I bought it and how well it worked.
BIG added bonus. I had turned into a 10:00AM vending machine junkie. This product definitely keeps me full until lunch. I actually feel very full. I noticed this the very first day I used it. So I made a container of gel to keep in my office and take a spoonful at about 2PM and that keeps me away from the vending machine in the afternoon. It has really helped to cut out my junk food habit that I never had until I started working in an office. I really am thrilled with that since I had packed on some pounds. This and returning to the gym is really helping. I can't say, like others, that I notice more energy but the keeping full part(from someone with a huge appetite) I can really vouch for.

The chia seed is probably one of the most versatile, nutrition-packed, economical diet foods available. There are virtually no side effects - all of the good and none of the bad. You can make chia gel to store in your refrigerator and eat alone or mixed with yogurt or other food. The chia seeds will keep you from feeling hungry and provide an excellent source of hydration and sustained energy. You can also add chia seeds to salad dressing or sprinkle them on foods. Chia seed gel is tasteless so it can be used as a fat substitute for baking as well. Chia seeds can also be added to fruit smoothies as a high fiber, low-carb source of protein and good fat. Wouldn't it also make sense to keep a package of chia seeds in your car (well-wrapped of course) along with water in the event that you were stranded? Unlike flax seeds, chia seeds should not go rancid if kept dry. Chia seeds as compared with flax seed contain more nutrients and have no offensive taste or odor. Raw Food World offers a very good value for purchasing in small and medium quantities. I fell in love with chia seeds. Recently while on a restricted diet, I'd use them to thicken a blueberry beverage and use it to top pancakes. I've used them to make "tapioca" pudding, and my husband and I both preferred it to the real thing.
I also really enjoy an iced Dandy Blend beverage made with these. I put a teaspoon of Dandy Blend, a teaspoon of agave nectar, about 5 drops of English Toffee flavored Stevia, and 1-3 tsp of chia seeds into 1/3 glass of water. Let set for 10 minutes or so to give the seeds a chance to gel, then fill glass with milk and ice. All ingredients of course can be adjusted to taste. I purchase all these items on amazon.com, so I should name it Amazon's Exotic Blend or something.
I wonder if this could have anything to do with my spider veins fading? I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing differently to make that happen, because I want to keep it up till they're gone, and I've been using chia seeds for about 4 months now. I'll definitely keep using chia seeds either way, because I enjoy them so much.
This is a great company, and at $9.50/ 2 lb. it's the best price on chia seeds that I've found, if you don't factor in the shipping. I get my shipping reimbursed anyway, so that's not a factor for me.
