Customer Reviews of Claritin Children's Claritin Allergy, Non-Drowsy, Grape, 4-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2)Customer Review: Price is right, goes down easy, tough to tell if it works Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this for my 2 year old who seems to have allergies. She likes the taste and doesn't complain about. It's tough to tell if it works though so I'll leave that up to each parent to decide.
Customer Review: Claritin is GREAT! But my children refuse to take the liquid & prefer the RediTabs - cheaper if you cut adult RediTab in 1/2 Summary: 3 Stars
I love Claritin as it has worked wonders for my 4 year old son, who suffers from seasonal allergies...but he along with his 5 year old sister refuse to take this liquid Claritin because they claim it is "yuck". I have tried it myself and find that it does have a slight medicine taste. Because of that "yuck" taste, my children prefer the Claritin RediTabs. Those are so expensive that I went to our childrens pediatrician in search of a cheaper method to treat their allergies and I was informed that the childrens dosage contains 5mg of the active ingredient and the adult dosage contains 10mg...thus cutting the adult RediTab in 1/2 results in the same dosage as the childrens formula. This has been a wonderful help in paying for my son's Claritin because an adult box of 30 RediTabs lasts him 60 days for the same price as a childrens box of 20 chewable tablets. Now, I am no doctor and am only relaying to you what my childs pediatrician said was OK to do. :-)
Customer Review: Children's medicine in a GLASS bottle... Summary: 1 Stars
...what in the world was Claritin thinking? So it's late at night and my 5 year old daughter has hives. I'm told to give her an antihistamine and I get this brand new Children's Claritin Allergy GLASS bottle. I pour the 1 teaspoon as directed in the little cup provided. But as I turn to put the GLASS bottle back in the medicine cabinet, it slips right through my hands and goes crash all over our tiled bathroom floor. I'm not accustomed to the extra heavy weight of the GLASS since all our other children's medicine comes in plastic. Did I mention that it was late at night? Thank goodness I still have the 1 teaspoon filled little cup to give to my daughter. I'm tired but still I have to clean up this mess of GLASS and liquid, and then write this angry review. Thanks a lot Claritin! Good night.
