Yes, it's pricey, but if you've been TTC for a while, it's soooo worth it! We tried for 17 months to conceive. I charted, temped, and did the OPKs. We FINALLY got pregnant in Oct, only 2 miscarry 11-29. The first month we started trying again, it only took 2 wks for me to realize that I just didn't want to have to do all the 'data keeping' again. I broke down and bought this. This is my first month using it and I love it. I am temping and using the OPK, but only to compare to the results of this monitor. So far, everything is right on! This monitor has the advantage though. If I relied soley on my OPKs, we wouldn't have known it was time for baby dancing until this morning.(I also got my peak reading from the monitor this morning too) Because of the CBEFM's 'high' readings, we were baby dancing as of Monday night! :-) I'm praying we catch this month's egg, but if not, I'm using only this monitor next cycle! Everything else is going in the trash!
It's so easy. I prefer to take a sample in a cup and dip the stick (15 seconds)... then insert the stick in 5 mins, you'll know whether or not if you have to wake your husband up a little earlier. :-)

Short, simple, to the point. If you are reading this and you are debating whether or not to buy this monitor. Stop reading this review and order the monitor. I was you 1 month ago reading these reviews of women who conceived on the first try and was so skeptical, plus the price of the monitor and the sticks was a little high. I bit the bullet and I am now proud to say that I got pregnant my VERY FIRST MONTH with the monitor. My husband and I had been trying for 6 months prior. During the first cycle, as the monitor is getting to know you, you get A LOT of high fertility days. I ignored those days and waited patiently until my peak (little egg shows up) fertility days. The monitor told me I was ovulating MUCH later than I thought... 3 days to be exact. This was the difference between the past 6 months of disappointment and the joy we received just days ago from the Dr - baby is due July 4, 2010! Well, here we are after trying for seven months to have a baby, and I am just 5 weeks pregnant! We are over the moon and have this product to thank for it.
We started using this monitor two cycles ago. What it showed me was that I ovulated earlier then I realized. Our timing was all off! You can baby dance until the cows come home...but it wont work unless you catch that egg! Clearblue easy helped us to do just that!
Another thing I liked is that it was easier to get my hubbie involved in the process. Lets face it...men do not want to be bothered by a ovulation stick and trying to help you decide if it looks dark, or if you missed your LH surge!? Well, with this monitor, he can look at it and see exactly where you are in the cycle. When the little egg symbol popped up... I no longer had my husband; I had SUPERMAN! He put on the cape and went after that egg! teehee
He baby danced on my High and peak days, and here we are after two cycles!
Do yourslef a favor and get this! Also...I used Fertilaide as a supplement.

My husband and I began trying to conceive in early May, however unlike our first child things didn't come so easily. My cycles were very irregular after I went off the pill and, at first, I wasn't even sure when I was ovulating. We tried for three months without success. After reading reviews, I went out and purchased the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. The first month we used it, I was pregnant. However I ovulated on day 25 and just as I predicted, I miscarried on day 47. We continued using the monitor and found that my cycles were around 40 days long. To make a long story short, I ended up in the hospital with a ruptured cyst which actually brought my cycles back to a more normal span and one month later, I was pregnant again. I am now 10 weeks and feel very confident that this one will stick. This monitor took away much of the anxiety and mystery from what could have been a much more stressful process. It won't guarantee pregnancy, but it does allow a feeling of control over a situation that can make you feel powerless. I highly recommend this monitor. It is accurate, easy to use and worth every penny.Customer Review: It works

I would not listen to the advice of the directions book and only buy this monitor. I would accompany it with Toni Weschlers Guide to Fertility. Using this monitor along with taking my temperature, checking fluids and charting really works. I used it for about 4 months before trying to conceive. It taught me all about my cycle and it gives a lot more info than the drug store kits do. Furthermore, it says it doesn't work for PCOS, but I was on Metformin for my PCOS and it worked great for me. I am sitting here writing this at 3.5 weeks pregnant.
Also, the first month we started inseminating the monitor said I didn't ovulate. all my other signs checked out. I did have salmanella poisoning that month and I think that my cycle was very off that month. I called the help line and they were helpful. I think couples trying to conceive are fools to not use this. If you are like me and a hip lesbian trying to conceive with sperm that isn't from your partner, this monitor is a must. We knew exactly when to invite our biological father over to make his deposit. And here I am pregnant after just two rounds.
