Customer Reviews of Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor (Packaging May Vary)Customer Review: wonderful product Summary: 5 Stars
After trying to conceive for a number of months with no success, my doctor recommended purchasing a fertility monitor to help track ovulation. I thought that the Clearblue Monitor was a little on the expensive side, but liked the idea of it testing two different hormone levels. The monitor worked perfectly for me and I was surprised to learn that I would have a number of regular cycles in a row and then one where I didn't ovulate at the same time as I did during other cycles. It was during this longer cycle that we conceived and if it hadn't been for the monitor, we definitely would have missed our peak days. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants information about their body when ttc. On the fourth month of using the monitor, we got pregnant! Our first is due in the beginning of February and we couldn't be more excited.
I loved using the monitor, though in the beginning I found the directions to be a little confusing. I had to keep reading the directions for the first few cycles to figure out what to do. I liked knowing when my high and peak days were and it helped us time sex so that we weren't too worn out by having sex during days that it wouldn't be likely to conceive. I enjoyed seeing the monitor switch over from high to peak. It was so exciting and easy to read. I had a very difficult time reading regular ovulation strips and this took the guess work out of deciding when I was ovulating.
I found it difficult to always get my first morning urine. I'm not sure if it made a difference in the hormone readings, but it did cause me a lot of annoyance trying to fall back asleep at 3:00 in the morning so that I would have gone at least four hours since the last time I used the bathroom. The strips are expensive as is the monitor itself, but I think that it would have taken us a significantly longer time to get pregnant on our own. I am convinced that it was because of the information from the monitor that we were able to get pregnant as quickly as we did.
Good luck!!
Customer Review: My story... Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the monitor after 1 1/2 years of ttc. I did not get pregnant using it but it did do what it was supposed to and that is tell me when I was about to ovulate. My cycles vary between 24 and 28 days (a few times 32 days) I didnt know when I was ovulating. After using it for a few months I payed close attention to any possible "twinges" or pains assosiated with ovulating and it was and is dead on every cycle. I know everyone doesnt "feel" ovulation, but if you really pay attention to your body and your cervical fluid you will see how it corresponds with the monitor. I did have to consult a specialist and went through all of the testing with my husband only to find there was no problems with either of us. After over 2 years of TTC and a lap to remove endo in me (which could have caused the infertility) I took clomid unsuccessfully. We moved on to IUI while taking clomid. The month of the IUI the specialist took my blood on certian days to track my hormones, I used use my monitor too to see if it would detect an LH surge at the same time the doctor did. Well, they called me after I gave blood telling me they detected a surge, but I didnt on the monitor, I only had a "high" reading. I remember asking the doctor if they were sure because I didnt get a "peak" on the monitor. The month I didnt get a "peak" reading I got pregnant. So dont think your not ovulating if you dont get a "peak". In most cases if you get your period, you're ovulating. My son is now almost 2 and I am using the FM for #2. One thing to remember is you will ovulate "within" 24 hours of getting a "peak" reading and I only had a "peak" reading 2 days in a row once. I usually only get 1 "peak" day not 2. The month I didnt get a "peak" could have been altered from the clomid. Have intercourse every other day for max sperm count. Good Luck to everyone, TTC can be very frustrating, especially when everyone around you is getting pregnant with no problems. It's so easy to get obsessed with it. Try and take a break (if possible ;>)).
Customer Review: This product is GREAT!!! Summary: 5 Stars
In May of 2007 I decided to stop taking the Pill because I was sick to death of how they made me feel. My husband and I were newly married and were not ready to have a baby yet, so I started to chart my cycles to avoid pregnancy. Right from the start charting made me a stress case. My cycles seemed incredibly long and they didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason. Fast forward to this year and I found out in Feb. that I was pregnant. We hadn't been trying but decided we were ready when we found out, but unfortunately I had a miscarriage. I had a battery of tests done to check my hormone levels, thyroid, etc. but there wasn't anything wrong. After waiting one cycle, we started trying again and I used the OPK test strips, charted, but we had no success. I went on-line and read hundreds and hundreds of reviews for the clearblue easy monitor and decided to bite the bullet and buy it. Since my cycles are longer than the average I wasn't sure how long it was going to take for the monitor to "get to know" my cycles. I had read plenty of reviews from women who had gotten pregnant on their first cycle using the monitor but I thought there was no way I'd be that lucky. I couldn't have been more wrong because that's excatly what happened. I got pregnant on that first cycle! I am now 5 weeks pregnant and have had 2 beta tests with great results. This monitor completely takes the guess work out of trying to pinpoint your most fertile days, just wait for the egg to appear on the monitor! I even accidently skipped testing one day and it still read my cycle with total accuracy. I still in my 20's and after getting off the Pill and having weird long cycles, I was seriously starting to think there was something wrong with me, but it turns out we just weren't timing things right. This monitor made things a lot less stressful! I highly recommend this product because it works!
Customer Review: Couldn't believe it, but it WORKED!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I normally don't write reviews but the reviews for this monitor gave me so much hope, I thought I'd give someone else some hope. I didn't purchase this monitor but a good friend of mine bought one and got pregnant on her 2nd month and then let my husband and I use it because she knew we wanted to get pregnant so bad and it was not happening. I had been to the doctor right before she gave me this and got checked out just in case. The doctor said everything looked great but my husband's test showed a slight issue that could prevent it but only slight. So i was worried, but hopeful. We got the monitor and started our first month using it in January. I did exactly what we were supposed to and nothing happened. I was told it takes the first month to really adjust to your cycle and my cycle varies from 28-34 days every month so I never know whats going on. We tried February and again, did exactly what we were supposed to. I was still about 5 or 6 days away from my time of month, or at least what i guessed to be, and i wanted to go ahead and test so I could get my negative and move on. I really never in a million years would have expected a positive, but I got it!!! I got 6 of them, just to be sure. :) I'm only 5 1/2 weeks and my doc appt is next week but I read soooo many reviews and was still hopeful but unsure. I just wanted to share my experience and maybe bring hope to someone else. My parents had 14 years of trying before they conceived and I was very worried that I would have the same problem bc my husband and I have been together 7 1/2 yrs and never tried to prevent pregnancy amd it never happened. I believe it will happen when u least expect it, but this little monitor is well worth the money to see what happens. You can always put it on ebay if it doesn't work and make ur money back. Good luck ladies!!!!
Customer Review: AGE 38, AND PREGNANT AFTER 3 MONTHS!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I had seen this monitor a while back, but figured I'd try on my own first, since I have very regular cycles and can actually feel when I ovulate every month. But after two months and no luck, I then tried the OTC ovulation/LH surge strips - also without success. I could hear the clock ticking louder and louder, since I'd had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy last year, and I'm already 38... so I FINALLY decided to buy this, since it had received such stellar reviews, with so many women saying they got pregnant within the first several months....(check the reviews on other sites as well). Not much of an optimist (because I was tired of being disappointed every month), especially given my age (DON'T read the statistics regarding age and chances of pregnancy - it'll just depress you), we used it for three months. It was pretty cool, because it gives you a much longer fertility window than just the regular test strips, since it also tells you of the estrogen surge (which occurs before the LH surge). I charted all of this every month (just on a calendar), and this last cycle had FOUR days of "high" fertility (past months only 2 days) followed by two days of "peak" fertility (LH surge) - and I'M I highly doubt this would've happened with the LH strips, because I might've only caught ONE peak day (LH surge), and wouldn't have known of the "high" fertility days leading up to it!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - IF YOU REALLY WANT TO GET PREGNANT, AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO WASTE, GET THIS MONITOR!!! You will really appreciate the accuracy of information, and will obtain a longer fertility window - KEY!!! It may seem costly, but imagine the cost of seeing an infertility specialist and undergoing all of the testing (we had just had our first appt several weeks ago, and were ready to start down that road....)!
