Customer Reviews of Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor (Packaging May Vary)Customer Review: Works.... Summary: 5 Stars
My gyno suggested this. I asked her about the comments on this and other websites stating this was hard to use if you had long or irregular periods. She said it is perfect for irregular periods. My periods were crazy since my thyroid was underactive for a bit. During that time this machine confirmed I was ovulating. It does what it says it will. However, that whole setting the time thing doesn't seem to work perfectly. The directions say to press the M button on the first day of menses then that sets your 6 hours window to test each morning. That didn't happen for me. I pressed the button at 8a and which means I should have been able to test as early as 5a but I was never able to test until 8a. At first I thought it wasnt working but then I discovered it wasn't allowing me to test until 8a. It did however allow me to test until noon so it worked but had an issue. It did this for at least two cycles but I only tried to test early those two times. I still have't gotten preg but that isn't he machines fault. It does give me dates of ovulation which is what I paid for the rest is up to God. Plus I am not trying that hard, if a person wanted to save the $150 on this machine they could just have intercourse every other day or every third day all month (except during menses/bleeding phase). I honestly just don't have time to do that :) plus with my thyroid being underactive I needed to confirm I was ovulating. It works but it is spendy...if you have time to be intimate every other day you can save a lot of money. It is not difficult to use though and I have even taken it on vacation. It takes about 2-3 extra min each morning. I am happy with my purchase.
Customer Review: The product that gave me back my sanity... Summary: 5 Stars
On Mother's Day 2008, I experienced a miscarriage. It goes without saying how devastated my husband and I were. Our doctor told us to wait at least two cycles before trying again. Naturally I didn't want to wait and I convinced my husband to start ttc after one cycle. Here is where my craziness began. The first month of ttc and not getting pregnant was mostly spent feeling sorry for myself and crying when no one was looking. Yet of course my husband would know that I was crying. On top of that I was in denial that I wasn't pregnant and spent a small fortune on hpts. Also, my cycle would vary by three to four days so I had no idea when I ovulated. I called my doctor to help me figure out when I ovulate and she recommended that I get fertility strips. I read that strips don't won't as well as this monitor for people who a) have irregular periods, b) want to be as certain as possible to know when they ovulate.
After a day of reading as many reviews as possible, I went to our local pharmacy and bought the monitor. I also promised myself when reading the reviews that if I got pregnant quickly I would write a review. So here I am after using monitor for two cycles, pregnant! I found out yesterday on my mom's birthday. I am not saying that that monitor is magical, however I gained my sanity back with the monitor because I knew exactly what was going on with my cycle. I was able to relax and enjoy the beauty of ttc. My husband was also able to feel less pressure because I was myself again.
I wish all of you reading this review trying to decide what to do, all the best!
Customer Review: Warning - This Maching Actually Works Too Well Summary: 5 Stars
As an "older" couple (mid-late 30's) my wife was worried that she wouldn't be able to get pregnant. We were hearing horror stories from friends who'd been trying unsuccessfully for a year or more. To top it off and add to my wife's stress level, her mother was sending her articles on how drastically fertility rates drop with age.
A couple friends had used this monitor with amazing results, and though we hadn't started trying to get pregnant yet, I purchased this monitor in the hopes of improving our chances (and my sanity - since my wife was getting wound up worrying that we wouldn't be able to conceive).
The plan was to use it one "practice month" so that the machine could learn her cycle and she could get use to it, and then get serious the next month. Well, guess what? Using the machine she got pregnant that first "practice" month.
It was truly a mixed blessing because I was looking forward to at least a month or two of hard work but instead my part was done before I ever really got started (husbands should take this into account). In all seriousness though, the relief on my wife's face was well worth the expense of this little gadget. We were sold on this device and used it again, with similar results, to conceive our second child.
I will add a caveat though. We have a friend who was not successful using this device. In the end it took her 3 invitro sessions to finally get pregnant and have her baby, so I'm thinking other issues were involved, but I want people to know that while this device works surprisingly well, no device is 100% guaranteed.
Customer Review: WORKED ON THE FIRST TRY!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
After 11 months of trying for baby #2, I decided to buy the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. It had me start testing on day #6 (day #1 being 1st day of normal flow) and it showed low that day, then it showed high days 7 - 12 and peak on days 13 - 14! My husband and I did our thing on days 11, 13, & 14. Today is day 26 and I took a First Response early pregnancy test and it was positive!!! Glorious! Apparently our timing has just been all wrong this whole time....ever since the birth of our first child a year and a half ago (who I got pregnant with the 3rd month of "just seeing what happens"), I have been having about 10 day periods (about 5 days of brown spotting followed by a regular period). I would count the first day of spotting as day #1 of my cycle, so we were actually trying too early in my cycle. I saw my doctor about my cycle & its relationship to me not getting pregnant a few months ago and he said to just give it time & track my temperature. Well, my temperature was all over the place and I couldn't tell a thing from it. Ironically, I went to see him again at the beginning of this cycle and he gave me a prescription for clomid that I would have started taking the beginning of my next cycle....but thanks to the fertility monitor I do not have to take any drugs! And this baby will be due right around Christmas :) Merry Christmas to me! I sincerely wish you all the best of luck and hopefully my story will give other women hope!! God bless!
(P.S. I did some shopping around and Amazon by far had the lowest price for the fertility monitor and test sticks at the time)
Customer Review: Worth It's Weight In Gold! Summary: 5 Stars
DH and I decided to start trying to conceive in Sept. Well actually it was Oct before I got my first cycle after stopping BCP. Since I am 32, we didn't want to waste time and decided to give this monitor a shot, plus I was addicted to reading the reviews! It just seemed so much more practicable and error proof then charting, and my cycles are irregular so I had NO idea when I ovulated. It is a bit pricey but my hubby being the technical guy he is stated that "if we can't afford the monitor then we can't afford a kid." Haha!
The first month we didn't exactly try but the second month we gave it our all. Bding on the high days, both peaks and the last high, as it will automatically give you two peak days and one last high. 11 days later I had my positive home test...YIPPEE! We are now 10.5 weeks along.
This was so easy to use and like some others I used the dip method as my aim is terrible...hehe. If you do all the tests correctly and as asked and do the baby dance on at least two high days, and both peaks you have a greater chance. It's hard not to make it a chore but the more bding you do on the high and peak days the better your chances, just once or twice may not cut it. And if nothing else it may speed up the process of discovering that one of you may have a fertility issue, better to know at 6 months then years later!
Lastly don't get discouraged if you get a lot of high days before your peak, this can sometimes happen, my friend had 15 the first month! But with that said she also conceived her second month using the monitor! Good luck and baby dust!
