The overall review score on this soap is misleading because most of the negative reviews have to do with the high s/h cost rather than the quality of the product. Colonel Conk Amber is the company's original shaving soap and it's unscented, which is nice because it won't clash with your aftershave scent. Because it's glycerine based it becomes very dense and slick, and provides an excellent protective cushion between the blade and your face...even when shaving against the grain. It provides a very close, smooth and comfortable shave and works great with a Gillette Sensor razor. So don't waste your money on the fancy over priced junk out there !
