This is not a replacement for a curling iron or steam curlers. I have stick straight hair with a mind of its own and hoped this would add curls to my hair, which it didn't. However, it did allow me to shape my hair. Instead of having some hair naturally curling under and some hair naturally curing outward, I was able to get a consisent shape so it looks neat and styled.Customer Review: I have naturally wavy hair and is a pain to sraighten with just a dryer:

I've used this product for the past 8-10 years. I've been through 3 of them and now purchasing my 4th as backup. I have very thick and wavy hair. This is a necessity... along with initially using a blow dryer to remove most of the dampness. I only use the brush attachment and it truly smooths out my hair. When I try to use a curling iron, my hair gets too curly. This gives me a straight look in only minutes time. And, it easy to use. Substitute this product... instead of using a round brush with your blow dryer.Note: I've tried using this on my friend who has straight hair, thin hair and it doesn't work very well. Clearly this product is the answer to thick/wavy/curly hair. Enjoy!

My hair is thick and coarse, so it is extremely straight and difficult to curl or style with a 'regular' curling iron (even at the highest settings!) I thought I would have to have perms for the rest of my life until I found this product. I primarily use the iron attachment to curl the ends of my hair in or out; I also use it towards the base of my head to give my hair volume when I want it. Works great with short or long hair, and with a little styling product (gel or mousse) the style stays even longer. I love how the heat is quick, so is cool down. The product is easy to take on a trip, works great. Won't leave home without it.
