I LOVE my Hello Kitty humidifier. (No, I don't have kids. Yes, I'm technically an adult.)
Generally my husband and I try to use it every night, but specifically when one of us is sick. With nightly use, humidifiers help keep your skin moisturized. I keep it on the nightstand by my bed, so the night light is really handy, and looks cool since it lights up the water tank.
The highest setting puts out some SERIOUS steam -- cold, of course -- but so far we haven't had a problem with moisture collecting or mold.
Before Hello Kitty came along, we had purhcased a humidifier at WalMart which was difficult to fill and inconvenient at best. Now filling the water tank is a breeze with the built-in handle (hidden under the removable white kitty head) and it fits perfectly into our bathroom sink.
I should probably go ahead and buy another one so I don't have to share it with future kiddos.

I'm very pleased with this product. It provides ample moisture to the air and creates better breathing for my grandaughter. She was so pleased with the Hello Kitty design. It is easy to fill and take care of. I am careful to empty all the water and let all parts air dry, when not in use, to prevent mold residue build up. One mishap that I had happen was, I neglected to put the "kitty top" on one time and this caused moisture build up to run down the outside of the humidifier. This resulted in water running down the sides of the unit onto the hardwood floor!! Fortunately, I was checking the unit during the night and caught up with the problem! However, this has nothing to do with the operation of the unit. Just be sure to put the "kitty top" on the unit when in use to avoid any moisture build up problems. We have two of the Crane humidifiers - Hello Kitty and the Frog. We bought Hello Kitty for my daughter's room, and it is excellent! We tried several "adult" humidifiers for our room, and none of them worked as well, so, we got the frog for our room. We figured that we could get away with it, being parents and all.
They are both very quiet, and work for large or small rooms. Between the two, we prefer the Hello Kitty version because it has a night light and a handle for carrying the water container that the frog does not have. The night light allows us to check the water level without turning on the overhead light. The handle makes it easy to carry up and down stairs for filling with a baby in the other hand. But the frog is cute and is (a little ;-) more appropriate for our adult room.

Bought the Hello Kitty Humidifier for my daughter. It is very quiet and makes nice mist cloud from the ears. And it has a night light built in. It looks great in the dark. My daughter loves it. We later also bought a frog and a panda. Both are good but no night light. Make sure do not turn the setting to the highest--water will set around it if too much mist comes out. I like to set it at about 3/4. The adjustable settings are very good to control the amount of mist. We bought one from Walgreens and there was only two settings of how much mist was generated with an adjustable opening. We had to return that one due to too much mist which made the night stand wet the next morning.
We are very happy with this product. Highly recommend it to girls who love Hello Kitty.

I am very impressed with the Crane Hello Kitty humidifier for my baby's room. I've previously tried several others, Vicks, Honeywell brands purchased from Target stores. First thing I noticed with those are the low fan noises that I can't stand. The Crane unit is whispering quiet, and I believe they're all ultrasonic units, so no fans inside. I use only distilled water, so should require less cleaning. The mist is so fine, it does not leave any moisture on the furnitures around, which is also something that other brands can't do. Overall, I am very impressed with this unit and for the price ~$38, it's great! I am ordering a 2nd unit, the penquin for my own room.
