I can't believe how quiet this is. I bought the elephant for myself because a previous review commented on being able to move the trunk and the crane "novelty" humidifiers got good reviews. My dog has allergies causing dry skin and I have winter dry skin. I haven't used it long enough to see if it helps the dry skin. I think it is putting moisture in the air because when I first started using it I had it in the family room, well my oldest kept falling asleep watching TV, he complained it was causing sinus drip...OK. Well I put it in my bedroom and quess what I woke up the past two mornings with sinus drip. I'm still coughing an hour later.Was it to much moisture? It bothered me enough that I had to write a review. If you are using it in a small childs room watch for sinus drip. Since you can control the amount of moisture in the air I will work with it, I did have it on high. I have had no leaks just the expected dripping when you refill. Overall I am very pleased and would recommend the Crane brand.Customer Review: Great so far

We bought this product about 2 weeks ago to replace a broken brookstone one. So far we love it.
We live in Los Angeles, so it is pretty dry here especially when we're running the heat. We have it set to about 25%, which is the point where we found the water instantly get absorbed into the air, and it was comfortable in our bedroom (probably 400 sq ft). We're moving it to the baby's room since she's sleeping in her own room now, and decided to buy another crane humidifer
Pros:
- Ample humidity at 25%, and only need to refill the tank every 3-4 days
- Cute looking
- Never seen water below it (I assume the negative rating users has it set too high or got a faulty product)
- Fairly quiet
Cons:
- I get water all over the place when replacing the water. Usually there is a some water left at the bottom which required special handling I guess, and I haven't quite mastered it.

I'm a college student, and don't have time to maintain it.
This humidifier is easy to use: it does not require a filter, so no soggy gross filter every few month. If you use distilled water, the humidifier will get dirty after, like, a year of use. If you are lazy and use tap water like me, white minerals will form and you should clean it at least every 3-6 month. A toothbrush and a little normal kitchen cleaner is sufficient for this.
The water tank will start to smell after 1.5 yrs of use (if you only leave water in when in use, but do not clean it). Some bleach and vinigar will get rid of it, be sure to use water to get the stuff out before using.
If you are using it for a baby or kid, a cleaning once or twice a month would probably be better. It works best on a hard clean surface, not on carpet (the fan is on the bottom).
It does a good job, is low maintaince, and is cute.

We bought this when I hit my annual bout of bronchitis and found that the old humidifier was pretty much dead. I honestly wasn't expecting much, just something that spits out some water and looks cute, with a higher price tag for the Kitty. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is actually a very high-quality humidifier, with all of the bells and whistles found on others in the same price range. Others boast two settings, this one has an entire adjustable range of settings. It doesn't make a sound at all and it's easy to fill and to clean. The nightlight is cute, but not very useful, as the LED power indicator is extremely bright and puts out more light than the nightlight does. Still, though, it's a soft purple and very soothing to look at.
Science has shown that happy thoughts can help contribute to quicker healing and recovery, and something this adorable can definitely add to that.

We have had this product for 2 years and love it! It generates a little (not a lot) of white noise - which you may/may not prefer, but we think is a plus. The mist comes out of the holes over the eyeballs, so it goes straight up in the air to fill the room. You use the knob to control the rate - the instructions say to turn it on high and then turn back until it only goes up instead of down to make sure you get the right amount. We run only at night and refill every 2-3 days. It is filter-less, and is the easiest humidifier I've ever cleaned! I do recommend the additional blue purifier; it screws in where the cap goes, so very easy. And for those wondering, our toddler knows it's a frog, but he doesn't play with it like we worried he would. I wish they had a non-animal version for our room! If you need a humidifier for a child, I highly recommend this product!
