This stuff makes your teeth noticeably whiter with each application, but it's unpleasant to have something that's basically a thick glue on your teeth all night. I was quite pleased with the quick results. My teeth looked much whiter after just one night, and after two weeks, my smile looks great.
The kit includes 14 little tubes of whitener, and you paint one of them on your front teeth each night. The stuff doesn't come off during the night, so don't worry about swallowing it. In the morning, simply wipe and/or brush it away with water. The product will gum up your toothbrush, so plan on using a cheap brush that you can toss afterward. It's best to wipe most of it off with tissue paper first, then brush.
I experienced only a very slight gum sensitivity after using the product for more than a week. Since I'm highly allergic to most products, I was relieved to find a relatively inexpensive whitener that I can use.

i'll start my review by saying that i purchased this item after reading a review that sold me on the idea. so i figured in light of that i would give my review.
i purchased this product 15 days ago. i used my final application last night and i was thrilled for it to be over with. i suppose it's convenient in the sense that while it's allegedly whitening your teeth you're asleep. however i found putting that goo on my teeth to be not very convenient. i would wake up and my teeth would feel pretty disgusting and it's not the easiest stuff to scrape off. it tastes and smells like acrylic but you get used to that. i also found that whatever it touches will stay permanently sticky. the whitening agent can be difficult to squeaze out of the packets so either i would end up with too much or not enough and as i've found out, neither is good.
now, the so-called whitening power is pretty weak. it did not whiten my teeth even a little bit. ok that's not very fair, what it did do was whiten the sides of my top row of teeth and whitened random tiny spots on a few other teeth. so, basically now instead of having slightly discolored teeth, i have mainly discolored teeth with dalmation spots. it's not very obvious, but it's still the result of using this.
i was ready to stop using it after the fourth day but decided to just finish it otherwise i wouldn't have the right to have an opinion.
so yeah, that was my experience.
so if you're keeping track it's messy, gross, ineffective but cheap. you don't have much to lose by trying it i guess. it seems to work for some people it just didn't for me. for 14 bucks you're hardly wasting anything.

I just used crest night effects for the 2nd night and I'm already impressed. I'm not quite sure why other people had problems using it, but it was very simple for me. It took me all of 45 seconds to do. Just follow the package directions and tips, and it'll be easy. I was worried because I thought it would bother me having this gunk on my teeth,and I was afraid it would come off.But it didn't bother me and it didn't come off.And it REALLY whitened my teeth, even after the first night I could see a difference. I first want to congradulate Crest and comend them for their excellent job of marketing - that is, making it seem so easy. "Dry teeth, apply night effects, sleep, reveal!." Here's what they don't tell you...
The Night Effects are very tricky to paint on your teeth, especially your bottom teeth. Your teeth have to be extremely dry. What I recomend doing is (1) having a tissue ready, squeeze some night effects goo on their little paintbrush deal, then dry the tooth your doing thouroghly, then quickly apply the goo to your tooth. *Don't be timid, use a lot of goo, this makes the painting easier. (2) I now recomend letting your teeth air dry for about 45 seconds, then move on to the next tooth. As you can see, this takes some time, until you get really good and can do maybe two at a time.
The problems I was having was even when I painted the goo fairly well onto my teeth, I would wake up in the morning feeling starving, and noticing that about 1/4 of my "smile teeth" had lost their goo to the depths of my stomach. This might not be harmful, but it sure doesn't help whiten your teeth.
Another problem is sometimes it seems your teeth are never dry enough, and it just won't stay, which can be very frusterating...but all this for a good reason right? Well...
After a few days I did (I think anyways) notice a slightly more whitened smile (excluding my two upper front teeth). However, this was a little less than remarkable, and I'm now starting on set number two to try and bring out the beauty of my still stained front two teeth.
So in the end, the night effects do whiten your teeth, if you can ever get the goo to stay on your teeth, but don't expect it to be easy, or fun. Now I see Listerine or someone has some mouthwash you can swish around for 12 weeks or something and your teeth whiten...sounds a lot easier, but takes longer...so if you want white teeth fast and cheap and don't mind a 30 minute to 45 minute hassel before you go to bed...then check these babies out...because they do work.
