Customer Reviews of DURACELL C12 PROCELL Professional Alkaline BatteryCustomer Review: Excellent inexpensive battery Summary: 4 Stars
These batteries are a very good choice for an inexpensive alkaline. Heavy duty batteries are not cost effective because although cheaper, they have a very short run time. To get the best bang for your buck, go for alkalines like these.
The "Procell" designation is basically Duracell's way of marking these batteries as ones intended for industrial applications. They make them as a separate line so they won't directly compete with their consumer lines.
My experience is that these batteries do not last quite as long as the top consumer lines from Duracell and Energizer. However, they are within 10-20% (depending on the application), and are considerably cheaper. So, they are much more cost effective.
Unless you are using them in an application where it is difficult to change the batteries, I recommend going with these instead of spending more.
Customer Review: A little old..AND died completely. Summary: 4 Stars
What can I really say about batteries, especially Duracell. My only comment can be that what I received was older stock. So far, the batteries received are preforming alright, but the date on them is from two years ago.
New Duracell batteries I purchased last week at Lowes, are dated Mar 2015. The 24 batteries I received from the Amazon Seller are dated Mar 2013.
Update - Feb 1, 2009...
I used these 24 Pro-Cell batteries to fill up two flashlights that I keep around for emergencies only. Now, after little, or no use, both flashlights are completely dead and need brand new batteries.
Customer Review: Works fine. Summary: 4 Stars
Not sure what makes them "Professional" - in fact they work the same as non-professional batteries.
Customer Review: half were leaking on arrival Summary: 3 Stars
Should be good but were leaking upon arrival. My fault for not returning them, but what a hassle!
