Customer Reviews of Devita Natural Skin Care Solar Protective Moisturizer 30Customer Review: perfect look and feel for my skin Summary: 5 Stars
I chose this moisturizer because of its top rating on the EWG sunscreen list. As a Floridian, I'm very particular about the look (white sheen) and feel (greasy, chalky) of sunscreens. The product as it arrived is in different packaging than the photo accompanying it on Amazon. This product is silky, smooth, non-whitening, and light on my skin. After about two weeks of use, I've noticed no negative change in my skin's balance or appearance. In fact, as someone who is used to drug store products for daily sunscreens, this product is far superior. I highly recommend it and will continue to keep it on my bathroom shelf all year.
Customer Review: Great for Oily Skin Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product because I have super oily skin that is prone to break outs. This product gives good, natural, and non-toxic sun protection without the greasy feel on your skin. It actually went on really lightly, lightly scented with a nice smell, and absorbed into my skin quickly. Does not leave a white haze or film. I put it on under my make up and only have to apply once a day. I have not had any break outs since I have used this or irritation. I think this is a great product for anyone who has oily or sensitive skin like myself.
Customer Review: New Packaging is a Problem Summary: 3 Stars
I love this skin cream--most sun screen products get into my eyes, causing stinging and excessive eye watering, while this cream does not. However, the pump on the new container broke on my first attempt to use it. I had to unscrew the pump top and now I'm using the rest of the pump as a "dip stick" to get the cream out to apply to my face. I won't order it again unless Devita reverts to the original jar or some other container.
Customer Review: Borderline cheating Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this before, and actually quite liked the product. I reordered it recently, and received a different packaging which is 1.7 oz as opposed to 2 oz as described here.
That is 15% less amount for the same price. The seller's response was simply that the manufacturer has changed the size, and that they're not responsible. I have 2 issues with that.
1) I don't like when manufacturers reduce the quantity on something that's beginning to sell well - as a way to increase the price. I don't know how well this product is really selling, but that's what it seems like.
2) If the packaging has changed, does someone not need to update the description here? If it is not an outright attempt to cheat, it is unethical neglect at the least.
Updated August 16, 2010: Just noticed that the product description has been updated now. That's good to see. Now my comment is only valid for the period of roughly 2 months when the description was out of sync with the product.
