As a person with lactose intolerance, I am resigned to having to take a pill or avoid dairy products altogether. Since I enjoy eating, I chose to take lactase pill(s) before a meal, not knowing I had any other option. However, I also needed a pill for desserts/snacks like ice cream, so I ended up taking 3 or 4 lactase pills on a given day. Plus I always needed to keep those pills handy.
This product has changed all of that. I take one pill a day every morning and I'm good for the rest of the day! You can supplement with lactase pills if you think you're going to test the limits on occasion. And if you work for a company with a flex spending health care account, it qualifies for reimbursement.
What's the difference? The lactase pills provide the lactase enzyme that breaks down the lactose, but it is not in your system very long, so that's why you would need it every time you have dairy. This product uses a lactic acid bacterium (probiotic) which is able to last for about a day in your system with the same results.

I have been lactose intolerant for about 5 years now and I was really skeptical of this product. After trying Lactaid and having gas pains and generally bad results, I couldn't imagine this stuff would be any different. But after a week and 1/2 now, I am eating cheese, ice cream and pancakes (not all at once of course, hehe) But I really am in shock! No more running to the bathroom and staying there for what feels like a lifetime. I honestly can't believe how normal I feel and I have much less fear about eating at restaurants now. It's just so awesome!
I do sometimes feel I need 2 pills a day, but I have a very extreme intolerance - everyone's different. The pills are small and easy to swallow. And the best part is that there was no side effect - no gas! It's sold at a great price too! I love this product and will use it as long as they make it (hopefully forever!) I highly recommend this amazing product!

When I first noticed that I had developed Lactose intolerance I used Lactaid. That worked ok. But once in a while something slipped by and needless to say that's not what I had in mind. The problem with Lactaid is that if you forget to take it you're most likey going to have symptoms. This means just to make sure you have to take one with every meal. There are so many hidden lactose sources in food these days. So I just took one just in case. That got very tiring.
Then I found this product on the Internet and tried it out. Once a day! That's it! What a great product. I have no side effects from what I can tell. There are no more surprises when I am away from home. It's like getting your freedom back.
One thing I have to ask. Amazon you state that by buying this product you save around $9 dollars? So why the almost $9 dollars shipping charge? I think that's a little outrageous.

If you suffer from lactose intolerance (LI), this is an excellent product. I have fairly severe LI, so much so that I avoided eating pizza or almost any other food items which had a large dairy content. Lactaid helped with some of the worse symptoms with smaller amounts of dairy, but did not cure all the symptoms. Since I started taking this product, I am able to eat much more dairy. Per the instructions, I take one per day every morning. This stops me from being affected by 'hidden dairy'. If I take 2 of the pills, then I can pretty much eat as much dairy as I want with little or no symptoms. If you are unsure if this product would work for you, go to the digestive advantage website and you can order a free 8 pill sample.
As a side note (and something I did not know before purchasing the product), the instructions say to take 1 pill per day (which I do).

This product absolutely changed my life. I started to be lactose intolerant 8 years ago and was completely reliant on Lactaid. As most people who suffer from lactose intolerance - I had to estimate how many pills to bring with me for vacation or even for the day. I had little stashes of pills at everyone's house and in everyone's car. It was getting completely insane. I started to take calcium pills at 16 b/c I started to avoid milk products all together if I didn't have pills.
My mother found a coupon for this product in a grocery store circular and I decided it was worth a shot and the rest is history. One pill and I am all set for the day!
I can't say enough about it, plus Amazon makes it so simple to stock up and save a few bucks.
HIGHLY recommend. I would give it more stars if I could!
