I've been a loyal customer of Secret for years. However, it has become more and more difficult these days to buy unscented. It seems manufacturers are determined we should smell like flowers! As far as I am concerned, that's what perfume is for. I want antiperspirant to be unnoticeable, so I decided to give this Dove Clinical Protection, Original Clean, a try. I am glad I did.
When the package arrived, the first thing I did was compare it to the list of ingredients on my Secret brand to see if there was an actual difference. The active ingredient in both Dove Clinical Protection and Secret Platinum Sping Breeze is "Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY." (Say that five times fast!) Secret has 19% and Dove has 20% of it. They have the same inactive ingredients, except Dove has added moisturizers, which are nice touch. And though the package didn't specifically state it, this Dove is a soft solid, which I prefer.
I found it provides excellent protection against odor and wetness, just as advertised. Everyone knows Secret's motto is "Strong Enough for a Man, Made for a Woman." Only, Dove can actually make that claim. Since the bottle didn't say it was only for women, I had my husband try the product as well. And it worked better than Old Spice Maximum that he was using (and which doesn't even have a list of ingredients!!). He drives a motorcycle to work each day. In July, that makes the ride home in the afternoon hot and uncomfortable. Yet, Dove was working strong even at the end of the day!
When I first saw the price ($9 a bottle without discounts), I was like, "nothing is that good." Wrong. I'll be buying this from now on, and hopefully at Amazon's discount price. Highly recommended.

Dove clinical protection was formulated specifically for women seeking superior protection from wetness but without the irritation. It is clinically proven to be as effective as prescription anti-perspirants in controlling underarm wetness, but doesn't contain aluminum chloride like prescription products. Aluminum chloride is an acidic ingredient, and can cause skin irritation and discomfort.
