Update after two months of use -- reduce my star ranking to 4 stars. After about a month, the product starts to leak out of the bottom of the tube meaning you are losing some of the chemicals that make it work.
Aside from the fact that it takes a few extra clicks the first few times you use it to get the right amount of product, Dove's Clinical Protection Original Clean product does exactly what it says it will do: stop underarm wetness. I've always sweated a bit more than normal, in my opinion, but with this, nothing. However, that doesn't mean my body can't cool itself off, I don't think the chemicals are messing with my body like that. You are supposed to use two clicks, yes the device that advances the product makes a click, on your underarms at night and in the morning post shower. I don't think the night time application is really necessary unless it is really hot however and that will save some product for later. The clicker device is cool because it lets you gauge how much you use thus cutting down on wastefulness.

Dove Clinical Protection is a very successful product at fulfilling it's job as promised. I followed the directions, by applying the night before. Later the following day I took either a two mile walk or hiked through some cemeteries taking volunteer photographs. The temperatures varied on the days I tried the product from 68 to 79 degrees. There was none of my usual prespiring on exertion, which is normally a problem for me.
I am always a little reticient to try a new personal product as I have various and sundry allergies and very sensitive skin. I had no negative reaction to the Dove Clinical Protection product.
The Original Clean has just that, a clean scent that delicately stays with you, but does not overwhelm you. I also have sensitivies to some aromas. Dove Clinical Protection scent did not cause any reaction, but did have a very agreeable aroma.
Very glad I gave this product a chance as it far outperforms my normal deoderant/antiperspirant product. I would certainly recommend it.

...at least no underarm sweat! I cannot believe that I just got back from an all-day, outdoor concert in 99 degree humid heat. Our seats were in the hot sun. My underarms stayed totally dry and clean smelling. Not so sure I can say that for the REST of me... but no embarrassing sweat marks on the underarms. I wanted to amend my regular review to share this amazing story!
This product has a very fresh, clean scent and does a superior job of wetness protection than previous Dove products that I have tried. You twist the bottom and the product comes up through holes, but it's not a gel-type deodorant. It's a soft powder. The "holes" on the top of the deodorant stick don't run the whole length of the deodorant, but you can spread the product around when applying. I get irritated underarms from shaving, and this product is very gentle. You don't sweat through this deodorant, which is very nice. It's great for the gym or for a really hot day. The product itself is not sticky in any way.
Customer Review: Don't Sweat The Small Stuff or Anything Else When You Use This

Living here in the Central Valley of California, we get hot during the summer and into the early fall. And with the heat comes sweat, and a lot of it. My daughter had given up on antiperspirants since they didn't seem to do any good. She went back to using regular old deodorants after trying nearly everything on the market. Why waste the money?
This product, when used as directed, works like a charm. It will slow down perspiration and allow you to feel cleaner and fresher for a longer period of time. It has a light, clean scent for those of you, who like my daughter, don't want to smell like a flower and it goes on easily and clearly. It also, according to my daughter, didn't feel as "harsh" as some other deodorants she has tried. The key to the product is to use it according to the directions, which goes against what you might have learned before.
If you want to stay dry, buy this product!

This product works very well. From someone who has had sweating problems under my arms and has ruined more than a few shirts from deodorant/sweat stains, this product is a miracle. It works equally as well as the Degree Clinical Protection, Men's Anti-perspirant and Deodorant, Clean, 1.7-Ounce Stick (Pack of 2). It goes on dry, feels great, and lets you remain confident throughout the entire day that you won't be sweating (or smelling). A few things to keep in mind: it has a more of a feminine scent than the Degree men's product, and I find that, as with the Degree product, more than the recommended two clicks of the product are needed for complete effectiveness. The new clinical protection products are wonderful and I'll never go back to using "regular" anti-perspirant again.
I preferred the cucumber scent to this "original clean" scent.
