I assembled the chair without looking at the instructions and it was that easy. Also, there was no tools required. The chair is pretty stable.
Special note
I liked the suction cups at the bottom of the chair. For increased security, Get a bath math to go with it. You have to make sure your disabled family member has the maximum security in the bathtub.
