These batteries are more like the standad alkaline coppertop batteries and less like past rechargeable batteries I've used. They have a much longer shelf life than rechargeables of the past. These batteries came pre charged, just like a standard alkaline duracell battery. In the past, this was not possible because previous generation rechargeable had a short shelf life and would lose much of their charge during shipping. These arrived fully charged. I purchased a new LED flashlight at the same time and put the batteries into the flashlight upon arrival. The batteries, though duracell rechargables, performed similar to new duracell alkaline batteries. I've been using them every day for about 3 weeks now with no sign of losing power. When used as a pair inside a point-and-shoot digital camera, they lasted for at least a couple of hundred shots, several of which were with the flash on, without showing any signs of being close to running out of juice.
When used inside the JBL On Stage IIIP Portable Speaker Dock for iPhone 1G and iPod (Black) they (six of these batteries) provided a couple of hours of music at high volume.
Charging four of them together can take several hours on a Canon CBK-100 AA NIMH Rechargeable Battery and Charger Kit for A10, A20, A30, A40, A60, A70, A80, A100, A200 & A300

I now have sixteen of these batteries and they all work flawlessly. I use them to power my TV remote, 2 xbox360 controllers, a digital camera and keep some spares charged and ready to swap out. I love these batteries and I've turned some friends to getting them too. They love em too. I've read some reviews that they do not charge all the way. I too had this problem but it was due to a faulty charger. I didn't want to give up on these batteries when the charger finally broke so I bought a new charger(duracell) and they get fully charged all the time and last a very long time. I've been using them with the new charger for over a year now and I haven't had any problems. Get these batteries and you'll never go back to regular(nonchargeable)batteries again.Customer Review: Great Rechargeable Batteries! Highly Recommended!

The Duracell Precharged Rechargeable AA batteries are very convenient since they come fully charged which was a real plus since I went on vacation and forgot to bring my rechargeables, but had remembered to pack my recharger.
I like using rechargeable batteries since they tend to last longer, they save money over the long run, and are better for the environment since you are not throwing them out after one use. These batteries do hold their charge a very long time and perform very well in my electronics (mostly digital cameras).
My only issue is that they do look similar to regular Duracell batteries, so care has to be taken that they are not mixed in or accidently thrown away.
Highly recommended!

A large improvement over the old NIMH. Testing shows that these type of NIMH will lose their charge more slowly. This makes them more useful because they can be used in long term low draw items like the outdoor thermometer, alarm clock, and things that sit between uses like the pocket GPS and the underwater camera without being dead every time you need them. Yes they are similar to Enloop batteries, so what.
Now the cons- Mine did not arrive fully charged. NIMH batteries do not take a full charge for the first 2 or 3 uses. That is normal. These won't develop their full potential until you charge them and use them once or twice.
They are a definite advance. I won't get the old kind any more. Buy Them.
