This is a nice product. I purchased this for when my toddler sleeps with me on a regular bed. One of the thing which I dislike intensely about underpads is that most are made from vinyl or other plastics, which emit a nasty and probably dangerous odor. Since we sometimes put our faces right on the pad, it was important to me that we didn't get the chemical smell. This is made from polyester, which is still derived from a chemical, but didn't emit any odors. I had yet to wash it. But from the looks of it, it will stand up to the machine. I am pleased with this product but I only gave it 4 stars. I am a very exacting person, any product getting 5 stars from me has to be absolutely perfect.
