Customer Review: Excellent water protection!

CON:
1. More expensive than a trash bag
It is difficult to keep any cast dry while trying to maintain a little personal hygiene. In the past, I have used trash bags, but a little water still gets in, so you have to do acrobatics in the shower to try to keep water away from the trash bag.
The Duro-Med Leg Protector has a rubber gasket that forms a water-tight seal. So water tight, that I have even gone into the swimming pool without getting my cast wet. And the plastic sleeve is somewhere between 8-10 mil thickness (about 15 times thicker than a standard trash bag). It has been wonderful being able to shower without any concern of getting the cast wet.
It might go without saying, but you do need to be careful when you put on or remove the protector not to damage the rubber gasket on long fingernails or sharp objects. Once the gasket is torn, the protector is worthless.
I have used this for a couple weeks now and love it. It will still be in good shape for the next cast!
